I’m with you. If I was in the market for a wagon with welly it’d be the Alfa four cheese. I’m surprised more RS4 folk haven’t looked that way. Similar money but a whole load more performance.

I have ended up back in a GTR-R35 (when it arrives) Luckily my kids are all up and away so don't need a big 4/5seater. My wife's golf does that if needed. New GTR is way comfier and quieter than the pre FL ones. I was looking forward to the B9 RS4 but not prepared to wait until march or longer. The new RS6/7 are a good bit away but just too big nowadays.

Ideal car IMO would be RS4 Avant with 600bhp. Right size (after all the A4 is a big car now and can easily cope with 4/5 onboard) and plenty power without being daft.

RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

I have been looking at M6GC’s again last night as I have always had a soft spot for them. The Alpina touring will be interesting. I might go look at some cars in Brussels today and check one of those out.

And good to hear that Paul, my son’s only 1 and hopefully in a year or so he’ll have a little brother or sister so a R35 GTR is ruled out.

I came from a B5 into RS6 ownership. The B5 is a softer proposition but with 600bhp / 800nm (? If i remember correct) and 205mph top speed its a worthy steed !

My C7 RS6 has officially been rejected and accepted back by the supplying dealer.

A short summary on my ownership;
The car had a gearbox issue 29 days after I brought it, going in and out of 4th gear caused the car to shake quite violently.
A gearbox software update apparently fixed it but my local dealer found a few issues with the car that were not sorted when I brought it as an AUC RS6, totalling up to £2,600 worth of work, I only had the car for 6 weeks before it went to Audi Birmingham where it has remained since. This still hadn’t been approved and now their aftersales manager back from leave, he has accepted my rejection and will take the car back.

It’s been a short yet fun/memorable experience. I only had it a few weeks but did 2500 miles in it, drove 400 miles of country roads in Belgium/Luxembourg & Germany and enjoyed it a lot.

Home in the U.K. is Birmingham, not to far from Tyseley. Reading Eddie’s thread about his RS6 being stolen at gun point was always something I had to consider when I moved back. I have a 1yr old son and also not to far from where the A3 was stolen with a baby inside (Birmingham hey!).
This kinda rules out buying another RS6 to replace it, and leads to the question of what next??

Is a B8(?) 2015 RS4 a good car to replace the RS6 with less attention or the same?
How about an E63 AMG estate? I also looked at M6GC’s but ruled them out for their heavy depreciation.
I also have an R33 GTR but that’s a long term project and want something that is fun, quick and able to lug me and my small family about, which the RS6 is perfect for!

I won’t dissappear from here yet, as the RS6 itch still remains, I might just wait and see what the C8 RS6 is like..
If I was in your shoes I would get another RS6 C7. I know you’ve had a bad experience with your one but there cracking cars and they have many many good attributes. Obviously you went through all the other car options prior to purchasing yours and decided on the RS6. I don’t think that an RS6 being stolen at gunpoint should deter you. I’m sure at one point every car has been stolen in one way or another.

It would make more sense changing cars through choice rather than circumstance.

I know Fozi when it comes to cars being stolen. I haven’t heard of an RS6 be stolen locally in a long time, I think someone else said that any German car can be at risk, well maybe any key less car.

I’ll be keeping an eye on the market for sure, might just save for an FL car if I don’t get a PE.

GTR or an M5 would be the only two cars within this price bracket that would cut it for me. I would also possibly consider an Aston Martin Rapide S, Porsche Panamera or one of the V8 Maseratis. All of which (with the exception of the GTR) will move the family, the dogs, the Ikea furniture very swiftly and in style.

Had a GTR, after my son was born my little brother drove it more than me. Ended up selling it.
F10 M5 is an option, but when I have driven them it lacked the sense of occasion that I got when I use to drive my E60 M5 in similar conditions.

When it comes down to it, unless you spend over double the money on a Panamera Turismo Sport Turbo, the C7 RS6 is the best value for money for this type of car IMO

So the dealer took my car back on Monday, and it’s back up for sale with them for £5000 more than I paid for it just a few weeks ago.
It’s a white RS6 on the AUC site, not sure if I can name the dealer.

Makes me chuckle, the market hasn’t firmed up but they are trying to get more as less AUC cars for sale

Weird but you know what chances are they’ll sell it. Many people put a lot of faith in AUC cars. That along with the ease of finance etc.

Maybe I should share the list of issues I had with the car.. Would anyone like to see a copy and paste of the painful journey I had with the dealer? I will remove their name from it.

I guess now I know why they brought it back off me too
