We are on a same boat man) I also have 2 kids, when you go with family use comfort mode when you drive alone use dynamic that’s all)bn8959 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 9:51 pmI’m now in a dilemma as apparently Milltek have postponed the fabrication of the Road+ resonator section until next week, so I’m going to have to wait... but they do have non-res centre sections in stock, so I could have it tomorrow.... humm.
I’ve not heard either so hard to choose. Had a non-res, non-valve on my RS4 and it was epic. But I’m a bit older and wiser now (meaning I have a family and 2 small girls), so need something that can be quiet when the family are in the car. Hence my choice of the Road+ and valve control.
Re: Milltek Road+ catback
So has everyone just been told its now next week for milltek?? they still haven't manufactured the center pipes?

Re: Milltek Road+ catback
Apparently the Road+ centre sections are being made this Friday. Shame I am on holiday next week, so mine is booked in for the following Monday for fitting.

Yeah looks to be everyone waiting... so apparently it’s all centre sections are yet to be manufactured... but I’ve managed to speak with a company who think earliest point of fitting will be Tuesday.... I’ve decided this is the perfect excuse to upgrade to the non-resonated system as well

Re: Milltek Road+ catback
Damn you see, I'm thinking the same. I feel I really need to hear the non-res though.
The sound of the overrun on my old RS4 was just epic, and still loved it after 7 years of ownership (9 year total ownership, first 2 years stock).
But I don't want to drive my little girls nuts with drone when on long journeys now (it was LOUD in the back of the RS4!).

Re: Milltek Road+ catback
You should all be cutting out your front and centre resonators. A fraction of the price and similar sound to the non resonated, maybe a little bit quieter. I don't have any drone. Any my valves are permanently disconnected so they are always open.bn8959 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 5:04 pmDamn you see, I'm thinking the same. I feel I really need to hear the non-res though.

Re: Milltek Road+ catback
It sounds like this road+ versions sits right in the OEM exhaust modded territory.
Re: Milltek Road+ catback
Have a listen to this:
Re: Milltek Road+ catback
Mike I did the cut out option before my car went pop. For me that was also a little boomy on the long runs. I’ve now gone full non res cat back Milltek and as before it’s just a little boomy. Great when you want full pops and bangs but just too much on motorway driving. TBH I don’t think there is a perfect option on a turboed car
Or I’m yet to find it.
Re: Milltek Road+ catback
I find it perfect and not at all boomy. I don't think you could describe mine as boomy in any way. When in Drive and even with the valves open and cruising I can't even hear it above the tyre noise. If I pop into into Sport and it drops a couple of gear then I can hear it again.

Mike perhaps it’s just me getting old with more sensitive hearing 52yrsMikeFish wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 10:37 pmI find it perfect and not at all boomy. Re: Milltek Road+ catback
I even tried it with the stereo off yesterday just to be sure. At cruising speed in Drive with valves open all I could hear was wind and tyre noise. As soon as increase throttle I can hear the exhaust again but once cruising at new speed it is silent again.
And I ain't that many years behind you.

In comfort mode Miltek none resonated exhaust sounds nice and no drone)skirs6 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 12, 2018 8:50 pmMike perhaps it’s just me getting old with more sensitive hearing 52yrsMikeFish wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 10:37 pmI find it perfect and not at all boomy.
