Solar Orange. - Thoughts

Post by Iain » Sun Dec 31, 2017 3:02 pm

I'm putting mine up for sale in the next few weeks as want a PE

Am I looking nuts getting myself into this? Phenomenal spec but not sure how big my balls are to drive a mobile tangerine?

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... 17/8135727

Alternatively, I will just wait for the right car to turn up

Doesn’t matter what we think - if you like it, go for it!

I guess the only other consideration would be re-sale. If you think you’re giving it back to Audi in a few years, might be worth asking them if they’d have an opinion on PX price on the solar orange vs any other colour (given it might take longer to sell).

By the way, Since tangerines are quite small, I’d say it’s more of a mobile pumpkin.

I wouldn’t...too much colour.

Also, as a daily it will draw way too much attention !

All depends just how visible you are happy to be, but on the plus side, like an Imola Yellow B7 RS4 I was loaned once, for 3 weeks, whilst mine in Avus Silver was being repaired, nobody could say they didn't see you coming, so has to be one of the safest on road colours for a car!

I’ve been looking at this one:

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... ro/7972022

Currently have a Sepang, but like you not sure I could live with the colour daily and would the trade/resale value be a lot less?

One good thing with very bright colouroured RS’s, they are less desirable for thieves who use them for crime. They want to go about their ‘business’ as fast & untraceable as possible so tend to stick with thieving black/grey/blue.

I’ve personally never (touch wood) read/heard of an RS in a Riv/Solar/Viper/etc that’s gone walkies.

The RS6 can carry off on here loud colours, and I personally think looks great in a Solar with the black pack.
