He's been offered £62k from a dealer, but apprantly he's holding out for a private sale at £64.5k.

We've all been there though, bought with our heart rather than our head, and then tried to minimise the hit when reality kicks in! I did it in 2005 when I decided to buy a brand new TVR T350T. Net result, I lost £14k in 9months, and for one of those months it was off the road at the TVR dealer having issues ironed out.
If you read my above reply then it's up for S & R at a place I've used before and who sold my C6 for me and left me with extra ££ in my pocket. Lots of naysayers around here (yourself included) so I'm going to hold off and see how this pans out. Time Will Tell....

Hi, not sure if it's been mentioned earlier on in the thread but have you tried "tootle"? I used it to sell my S4 and got a very reasonable offer. Also Fontain motors may be worth a try, very professional outfit and know their S and RS Audis.
Just a thought, good luck.
Hey mate, yes it was on Tootle for a bit and the offers were all in the high 50's. Fontain was the first dealer to offer £62k off the bat and Alex there came across very well, I can see why so many people recommend them.
So am seeing how this new lot do, as I said they've sold a previous RS6 of mine with a great success rate (sold within two weeks). Cheers for the message.

Just one extra thing I learned yesterday-Sell Your Car With Us whilst looking through the docs found that the car is on a Service Plan which I didn't know about-Audi never mentioned that so it's another bonus and another selling point

That's a nice little bonus but not a major factor in someone paying the Sticker price. I hope u get what u want for it but as others have already remarked each day it loses money.

What's their cut going to be? Or is that another cost you don't account for?
£1k or £1500 with their Premium Package. I wouldn't go into a deal blindly, it's going up at £67,990 with them and they are a dealer that offers finance. With my C6 it sold within 2 weeks (and it had been up for sale for a while what with being a Saloon) and I ended up with just under £1k in my back pocket. When my 'loon was struggling to sell privately they pulled it out of the bag (plus I wasn't getting phone calls from idiots) and I came out at a profit. Not saying I'll be coming out with extra fat from it however I'll be having to pay far less to clear the deficit.
Either way even if it goes for less than their asking price a better deal than taking the £62 ish offered from dealers.
As I said-time will tell. As you said before Don when people were having a go at you on a different thread: opinions are like arseholes-everyone has one!

I'm not bothered what your car sells for TBH, I'm not in the market and with your car's history I wouldn't buy that one anyway.

I've given my opinion before, of course it's up to you to heed anyone's advice on here, like you said time will tell.

I think you were really stupid buying a £70k car completely on credit, especially when it seems you can't afford it. But, again, that's up to you, doesn't affect me.

So, you need to get £63.5k+ to better the trade in you were offered, if that offer still stands. Good luck with that.

Fontain currently have three RS6s listed at 69, 66 and 63k. I bought my S4 from Alex - what he doesn't know about Volkswagen Audis isn't worth knowing!

Steve I hope it sells soon mate. Just had a look you must be gutted to be selling so soon. I'd be tempted to do a bit of shelf stacking at Tessers just to keep it. 😂😂

I'm not surprised it hasn't sold when it's up for "sale and return".

Thanks mate 'Sellyourcarwithus' sold my C6 RS6 Saloon in around 2 weeks but there's a big difference between £25 -odd grand and £65k it seems. Now that kids are back and holidays are over hopefully it'll move on. Still torn what to go for next though! Prefer AWD so S4/5 or C43/CLA 45 might be options. Having said that a Tesla is still mighty tempting! There's a lot to be said for running a car for free (can charge it at work) with zero emissions tax....

That last option - though likely not very popular on this forum- would be a great choice. I've made the change and other than the lack of sound, I've not looked back.

It's a compelling argument for sure although yes many on here will fight against (what is) the future. I'm still not sure I'm 'there' yet having a V8 and a mahoosive V10 beforehand, a test drive will sort that out though. All the reviews are great, even from die hard Petrolheads such as Evo. Dependable car, loads of room, handles well and can go like stink (if you get the right model). Minimal servicing costs and zero running costs. Free access to an expanding Supercharger network as well for life. Upgrades and more power are a factory download away so no warranty issues. What's not to like?!
Tesla do a comparison on their website and compared to mine it had me as saving £595 a month which ain't to be sniffed at! Thing is I only tend to hang onto my cars for a max of two years...would the sums balance up? Have to be a second hand one I reckon.

The way I see it - big engined 8+ cylinder petrol cars are soon to be on their last legs, and at some point we will be forced into electric. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!

I had the same convo with someone at work, who was considering a tesla to replace her F-type. Last I heard, she was going to take up my suggestion to take an R8 V10 for a test drive instead!

Stevo55 - you really do confuse me you're on a forum which is dedicated to high performance cars and yet you constantly go on about savings this and savings that - mate when your car gives you between 16-22mpg and a service can typically range from £1k onwards i doubt people are bothered about how much they can save per month etc.
