Faulty exhaust flap?
Faulty exhaust flap?
The past week my flaps in the exhaust has stuck open. Have noticed it's only on 1 side though.
So in comfort both flaps should close, (but only 1 does) then when switch to dynamic the flaps should open
I had a look under the car and connections all seem ok. The side that doesn't open definitely has power going to it as when turn engine off the flap makes a Bleeping sound and looks like the flap attempts to move
If switching from comfort to dynamic it doesn't attemp to move though
Not sure if it's kinda stuck mechanically or it's a fuse? Anyone no where the fuses are for the flaps? Or any ideas?
Thanks guys

Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Ps it's a full miltek exhaust
Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
If it has power going to it then it isn't the fuse. Blown fuse would mean no power surely?
And I would be surprised if there was a separate fuse for the left and right as they down draw that much current. Probably shared with a load of other stuff too. Sounds to me like it's a faulty valve on the exhaust.

Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Ye true! Must be the valve. Don't think just the valve can be replaced?
Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
I may try force it closed ?
Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Or disconnect the other one and enjoy the lovely sound all the time.
Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Lol true but it's kinda to loud!
It looks like you can un bolt the top of the valve may try that see if I can see anything wrong or Stuck

Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Tried forcing it shut but it just springs back
Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Milltek warranty should cover it, contact them direct
Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
It's sorted!
Didn't really do anything just messed about with it. Gave up and left it. Just went to pick kids up and it was fine!

Re: Faulty exhaust flap?
Glad it sorted itself out
.
I actually had a simular thing i guess. When i installed my milltek, one valve was closed and kept close (no errors), so i figuered i just unbolted the mechanic actuator and see what the future brought. Half year later i looked at it back, opened up and make sure the pins lined up. Too my suprise, he worked again perfectly
