Although not on a C7 RS6, i've had 4 Audi's tuned (TTC 225 Jabbasport, D2 S8 AMD, C5 RS6 Sportec/AMD & B7 RS4 DMS) & other than the S8 all have had warranty work, albeit only the C5 RS6 had anything relative to drivetrain as it had 2 new transmissions, the first was prior to the tuning & the second after. Other than the TTC, all had aftermarket exhausts & the C5 RS6 had considerably more extensive upgrades including intakes, intercoolers, oil cooler & suspension among other things & none have ever succumb to even a raised eyebrow by the Audi Main Dealers & in fact my local dealer knew in detail what i'd had done to all the cars.

That said, my last experience with an Audi would have been close to 8/9 years ago, so things may have firmed up, but although not Audi, my R35 GT-R was extensively modified, as was my F10 M5 & again not a sniff of complaint when either went in for warranty work, however neither needed any drivetrain attention.

I know DMS warranty their work, so if for some reason Audi had a 'computer says no' moment, they'd support & cover the work that Audi wouldn't, but as others have said, this to the best of my knowledge has not yet been tired as i'm not aware of any Audi's or BMW's for that matter failing due to a DMS remap.

Bottom line as doodle rightly states, it is a gamble & thus why i'd only ever trust a limited number of tuners to work on my pride & joy & am happy that i may be paying a little more than other offerings in the market, but peace of mind is worth the extra few quid.

Out of interest does anyone know how much DMS (and MRC for that matter) charge for their tuning for the C7?

The difference with DMS is they will come to your address to re-instate your map to factory prior to service work and then put your remap back on after you've had service done. IIRC it's unlimited visits for 3 years so if you're not local to MRC then £300 extra is well with it.

I cannot be sure but I think that a lot of tuners map around the warning modal window that flashes up at the dealers....

DMS is Nearly an 800 mile round trip from me, therefore I cannot see them making that journey unlimited amount of times. This was also never mentioned when I contacted them regarding the price

Dealers turning a bling eye to modified cars for service and small warranty work is one thing but if you put a plain on for a new engine you will quickly find yourself without a warranty.

This , I simply cannot countenance a claim for engine work or drivetrain that requires a significant amount of labour to be approved without audi uk looking very closely at modification trail .

As for DMS warranty, I simply refuse to believe they would cover a claim Audi refused to pay out on. There is also the added issue of potentially committing fraud by asking a manufacturer to repair a part that has been exposed to stresses and strains outside of its warrantied parameters and not making them aware of the latter . If you did make them aware and they paid out then good luck to you, point me in your dealers reaction as I'm looking to shift my amg

They call it stage 2 on MRC website. I only have the cat back milltek though and Doug said there was no need to change the spark plugs.

I'm not sure where you're based, but DMS have a site in the West Midlands now as well as Southampton.

They certainly do travel, as an M5 that was in the group buy I organised had an update & they travelled to Carlisle for that.

As for their Insurance backed warranty, I've never had to use it so can't comment first hand, but having known & dealt with them for near on 15yrs, I've no reason to think they're lying to me or the rest of their customers.

Opted for APR Stage 2 mapping along with Milltek DP, Catback and KW HAS springs all being fitted this week.

Collection tomorrow morning.

Rather excited to see the results!

^ brave man

Exhaust etc "shouldn't" effect warranty.....hope your engine and tranny are ok long term or your snookered.

Audi picked my map up straight away on my old C7.

Although did get non "engine" related warranty work done.
