If you don't want body roll don't buy a two ton estate car :bash:
Why does a 2 ton estate car have to roll? The B7 estate isn't that that much lighter and doesn't roll and has a more comfortable ride than the C7 in dynamic.
Besides, he asked about the difference between air and DRC and body roll along with ride comfort are the main differences.

To be fair, Mike probably thinks a Formula 1 car rolls a bit too much and 'could be lower'.

Mike, I noticed you're in a Panther Black car and wondered how you're getting on with the colour (swirls/cleaning etc)? My current RS4 is Prism silver and it's been easy to maintain but I had a nightmare getting the bonnet resprayed after a big stone chip, the crystal effect paint is very expensive and took around 4 weeks to get hold of, the car had been prepped so it was off the road all that time! I really like Panther and it would be my first choice but for the above problems and the likely maintenance (I am lazy when it comes to cleaning).

DRC every time. It has just the right amount of firmness to make the car feel planted and without rolling excessively through corners in comfort mode, while keeping all passengers in great comfort on long journeys.

I specified it separately as I didn't want the dynamic steering from the Dynamic Package.

I drove a car with the dynamic pack and thought the steering was ok, certainly better than the dynamic steering in my own RS4. Do you think the standard steering is better and if so how (more feel/direct etc)?

Luckily the F1 cars don't have wheel arches so wheel arch gap isn't a problem.

Mine is protected with G-Techniq Crystal Serum (and Exo although this is for water repelling rather than scratch resisiting) and have the front end wrapped in PPF. Without these i would imagine it would be swirl city. Have a full body PPF wrap and then there is no need to worry about swirls ever again!!

Both my Pre FL and PE both had/have the Dynamic Pack and, whilst I've never driven one on air, the DRC and steering are perfectly fine with me. Other important options for me were Black Styling Pack, Parking Pack Advanced (surround/Top View Camera) and Assistance Pack (ACC, Side/Lane Assist and Pre Sense Plus). I ditched the sun roof in favour of getting the car within 1 week instead of 6 months. :bigblink:

I have a panther black FL - no chrome - No air suspension. Dynamic steering Dynamic rear diff (?) Pretty dynamic car you could say !! Only had it a month but bejesus this thing simply defies the laws of physics Dynamic mode is all but unusable on uk roads as too harsh but the car doesnt feel big when pressing on at all. Feels big in a multistorey and top deck of channel funnel is ahem tight !
Pan roof is super silent with no road noise or rattles (25k miles)and yes agree with opening times but it does lift a black interior alot. Always had BMWs and last was an Alpina B5 touring which is simply sublime but you felt the weight of the car and knew limits were quick to come up whereas the 6 just pulls you out and around the corners weird sensation at first but now im hooked ! Picked up a milltek cat back non res this morning so looking forward to uprating the sports exhaust to that. Miss the hud but with the speedo in centre doesnt make a bad substitute. Dont miss the white leather interior which was a bugger to keep clean and new jeans left marks constantly. The black paint is always going to be an issue it shows all debris and i seem to have inherited a large collection if swirls from previous owner. Doesnt look too bad though when giving her a workout 2 weeks ago though !!

Really appreciate all the response and advice, very helpful. I am now thinking of just going DRC and standard steering, will probably be drawn into another pan roof (silly really), and ditch the HUD to keep me somewhere near budget.

Pan roof is definitely on my must have list.

I didn't drive one with dynamic steering but had heard mixed, mostly unfavourable, reviews about it. I am perfectly happy with the standard steering and certainly don't regret not specifying dynamic steering.

I've driven a FL 'Standard' RS6 with DRC and a PE on air and I have to say the DRC car handled much better. I was impressed with how well it handled, particularly on narrow country lanes - a lot easier to place on the road and actually felt smaller than my RS4. The roll on the PE was noticeable even on roundabouts and the car felt heavier. If I could afford a PE it would have to have the DRC...
