Not certain of the tech this highlights but it might be worth trying one of the BIG DAB channels to see if it is due to the transmission ? If you are using a smaller channel which does not get as heavy transmission coverage it might be the issue. We all blame the device we touch when the fault is further up the line?

Try the same routes and times using other stations ?

Thanks.

When it goes wrong DAB vanishes from the MMI waveband screen. It's like the car's not fitted with a DAB tuner. All and every DAB station are gone. FM works.

Cheers,

Simon

Lots of suggestions I'll try myself or get Bath Audi to try.

I'm having the TV fitted in the next few days by them. This uses a tuner from Germany apparently and interfaces smoothly with the existing MMI (or words to that effect). I didn't tick the TV box at specify time because the mandatory extra with that option is rear seat fitting and not the nice seats. Seems Audi dropped the TV in the front only option. However the chaps providing and fitting the tuner want the DAB issue sorted first. So now with these suggestions it might help.

Car doesn't have double glazing but as Rich says, like my previous one it has every concievable extra. I don't actually need to be in the car for the journey it seems.

Hi Rich I hope you're enjoying yours. I took good care of it.

Best regards,

Simon
Simon, if you don't mind me asking, how much are they charging for the TV? PM me if you prefer.
Not sure I'd ever use it but if it's not extortionate I'd consider getting it fitted.

Hi,

Dodgy DAB problem solved. The DAB unit was transferred to a demo car & a new DAB put in mine.

DAB in the demo car now randomly loses DAB. Mine no longer does, well not so far.

Well done Bath Audi.

Cheers,

Simon
