Can't say that's my experience, nor others I've spoken to!

They must only look after the people who can afford to tick the £6k B&O option box... ;)

This, 100%!

Exclusive colour cars are painted in batches (not just specific models either). They will only paint them when they have enough cars in that colour to make the paint process worthwhile. The batch number is a bit of an unknown quantity, I've heard varying figures. I've also heard that RS3's are currently given priority due to the large numbers of units they are shifting.
Hahahhaaaa - mate they are shifting cars like mad down there, anyway - buying is from someone who is selling, and to make that a good experience you both need to like each other. I.e. not all traders will suit all buyers.

....that's why I suggest Glasgow Audi for you Kev!!! :-)

Where do you draw the line 5K B&O 10K carbon brakes, Special paint, Extended leather, Massage seats, roofrack.
So the Bose is excellent and the B&O for me was crazy money but a must have. So I will cruise around listening to Lionel and then don't need the carbons.
Oh and the roof rack. Not really

6.3k for the B&O not 5k.
For me the bose just isn't up to the job. It's not bad but it's not great.
The B&O does sound good but not 6.3k good. You could get a much better sound for a fraction of that cost.
However, and this iis a big however for me; at facelift they changed the databus in the C7 for MOST150. This means that the current batch of MOST fibre to TOSLINK converters will not work in my car. I spoke to the manufacturer of these convertors and they say its a hardware change and they are not currently looking to make a convertor. Which means I am left with amplifying the analogue output of the bose amp (which makes me shudder; amplying a signal twice!!). Or retrofit the B&O for £2.5k

So it's dearer in the RS6 than the S8. Either way it's way too dear and so are the brakes but Audi know that people will pay it.

Ditto! I am hoping the B&O is the reason for my delay. I am sure it will be worth waiting for! Albeit best not to think about the price.

The Ramics really aren't worth it. Serious, the more I discuss their are major horrors with them - and that is as far as I'm prepared to take that comment. (You need to really push the car hard)

Now then the B&O, as Mike says the Bose is OK but not Great - I worked this out during my three day test drive, I love a variety of music from Lionel to Tiesto, from Florence to Chapman. The DAB system on the C7 into Bose sounded shocking. This was against my B8 Reference with B&O (albeit the much lower priced B&O) - the B8 sounded much better than the C7.

And I had a green card to go daft, which meant keep it under #100k and get a car you WILL KEEP (for a bit!!)

I love music so much, that I was happy to pay - IMHO Mike has the best option; retrofit the B&O and save a shed load, but I've not time to strip a car, and rattles freak me out.

I like fast, I like daddy cool, and on my own I love music. = RS6 + B&O based upon test drive experience.

I'm happy with my spec sooo much. Tick followed Tock

Glad I didn't pay out the extra for the brakes now then. I could not warrant the extra cost. However I just felt the b and o was a bit of class. Would be lovely to have permanent clean wheels but at £8500 will have to keep them clean myself

JAMES, the research I have done which is extensive, is that the ramics have serious issues with lots of heat, and driving to the capabilities of the car - where the steels simply do not. I never thought I'd say that but I am, unsprung weight on a 2 tonne car is like drrr, I completely get them on a 911, or McLaren, or a GT, or you know what I mean.

I reckon you chose right, and your conclusion of clean wheels for £8500 is spot on, with the exception of the £5k++++ bills when the discs go.

Thanks for the input. Very pleased with the spec now it was the only thing I was not sure on and to be honest it's mostly for bragging rights as really it will be a daily cruiser. I can pay someone £5 per day for 5 years to wash the wheels each day for same cost as brakes
