Waiting on an RS6 Performance
Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
That's not a lot more than 2 months (10 weeks?) from order to build. Not a great length of time considering most RS3 wait times.
I ordered early December with a build week 18th January and was delivered just over a week ago. I thought that was pretty quick and a lot quicker than I thought it was going to be, and so much quicker than the early facelift cars.

Thanks, I guess not. It just not as quick as I want, patience isn't a virtue I possess! ha!MikeFish wrote:That's not a lot more than 2 months (10 weeks?) from order to build. Not a great length of time considering most RS3 wait times.

Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
Really, this is a short lead time....I waited over a year due partly to Audi incompotence and general farce, but still, I'm not unique with that length of wait.
Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
I believe i ordered mine on Feb 5th and - following a call today - it's set to begin build mid-April. Not entirely sure how long it takes after that but hoping it's coupe of weeks.
I've slept on it and decided to ditch the heated steering wheel. Having read a few more threads i've gone for advanced parking instead; i've never once used the automatic parking function in cars so felt it would be a waste, but by the sounds of it the additional cameras are quite handy. I'm just concious of jumping in a normal car without parking aids and crashing into something because i'm waiting for a beep or camera to flag something up!

Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
I agree, its worth it for the cameras rather than the auto parking. And the flat bottom wheel looks better in my opinion.
Takes about 4 weeks from build date to collection.

Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
I think you loose the new drive select button on the heated steering wheel.
It's really frustrating to have to go through the mmi to change driving modes, to the extent I don't really bother much.
It's not difficult to use the mmi it's just annoying to have to, and then to set it back to what you had before. It's just a distraction you don't need.
I hope the new button sorts this out.
On non PE - the "star" button which it replaces can be set to a few different things. I forget which at the moment, but it defaults to voice guidance on/off which is useful unless you have your voice cues set to "short" in which case it sets them back to "long" when you turn voice guidance back on again.
Does anyone test thus stuff ? Drives me mad and the button is useless to me - voice guidance is now always off.
Actually for you VCDS experts out there - Can that be remedied with VCDS ?

Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
Mat, on the RS3 the star button can be set to toggle Drive Select, can it not be done on the RS6?
And yes the new button makes it so mucj easier to change modes now, but it is really annoying that we have to do it everytime we get in the car still.

Re: Waiting on an RS6 Performance
Mike, Yes you can't set the * button to drive select in the rs6 (via the mmi) or at all, unless in can be done through VCDS. But I expect you can't or it would have been mentioned here.
You can set it to skip forwards, toggle between media and radio, voice guidance and a couple of other equally useless things I can't remember!
Hence the frustration, more so because of the useless voice guidance option !

Interesting the heated wheel is round - on the R8 you can spec a heated flat bottomed wheel. I'd like a heated wheel, but no way would I want a round wheel in an RS. Just isn't right IMO.

Easier for them to repurpose one button than design a new wheel with enough buttons !RossDagley wrote:Interesting the heated wheel is round - on the R8 you can spec a heated flat bottomed wheel. I'd like a heated wheel, but no way would I want a round wheel in an RS. Just isn't right IMO.
Was hoping they might use the r8 wheel in the PE but that would have meant (at least) changing the centre console as well. Certainly wishful thinking in retrospect.
I agree it's not great on a 100k car.

TBH I got the heated wheel and I now wouldn't be without it. ToastyRossDagley wrote:Interesting the heated wheel is round - on the R8 you can spec a heated flat bottomed wheel. I'd like a heated wheel, but no way would I want a round wheel in an RS. Just isn't right IMO.
