1st PROBLEM

Cars almost18 months old now and had my 1st real problem last week, system fault with the stop start, booked in to the dealer for Thursday, between booking in and the day its due to go in the fault disappeared, took it in any way as I guess the car would log a fault, seems a sensor on the thermostat had failed, requires 6-7 hours to do and requires a coolant flush also ?. Had a call late on Friday to say the work is done but want to keep it in for the coolant to settle so have to keep the A5 Ultra for the weekend oh joy.

Mine did exactly the same thing after 12 months of ownership, happened at the same time as the electric handbrake failing too. Required an upgraded control unit for the handbrake, there was no mention of any coolant changes with mine though. The car has been fault free until recently when the start stop fault message appeared again on the HUD. TBH I never use start stop anyway so not going to worry too much about it. Like yours the issue seems to be intermittent. Interestingly I had a loan of Aberdeen Audis demo C7 recently and it too was displaying the start stop fault message on the HUD!!
