Admiral quote isn't that bad and they don't require a tracker.

Weird aint it. I was with Admiral with my GTR and they were fine but with the RS6 they were not ever close. They would not quote me for over 75K
BMW 540i
2018 GTR
F90 M5
X3MC
RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

Market value of the car is deemed as purchase price, not list price. I specifically asked my insurer this as I too found out that quoting anything over £75k, the majority of insurers wouldn't quote.

List price would need to be around £89k to get a purchase price of £75k+. RTI GAP would only ever make up the difference to invoiced (discounted) price.

Im going for NFU as well. Good reputation and 2 year back to purchase price as well.

£330 for the year with Direct Line. That's with over 9 years no claims and 3 penalty points, they have an uninsured driver promise too which I'm not other insurers do, basically if the numpty that hits you is uninsured they will still pay out provided you have their vehicle reg.

I presumed all insurers would pay out in the event of an uninsured driver hitting you? That's the whole point of insurance surely?

Check the small print on the Admiral policy. I don't know if it is still the case (and if you have GAP insurance it is a non-issue) but even though they ask you to list every option they certainly only used to insure the value of the car up to the basic list price.

I asked them to quote on my X5 quite a few years ago which I had ticked £10k of option boxes...when I read the small print I went elsewhere.

I should of been a bit more specific...... The uninsured driver promise basically means your no claims bonus is protected and insurance excess waived if you are hit by an uninsured driver.

Admiral quoted me £250. There is 'cheap' and then there is 'too cheap' - I put a premium that low on a car this expensive as being too cheap. Admiral also come close to bottom of Which's league table for insurers, which rates performance in the event of an accident, as well as general customer service.

A very good point. One of the reasons ( other than a competitive quote ) for joining my new insurer was the way they handled a friends recent claim. 'Hassle free ' were his words...........that'll do me!

Couldn't get anywhere close to the quotes here. £787 was the best buy via a comparison site. Bought invoice value gap for 5 years (£300) on top. 3 points & 1 (non fault) accident. Locked garage, no tracker, 8 years NCD & in my early 30's.

I'd happily pay an extra £500 a year to be 30 again. The only good thing about getting older is your car insurance premiums go down.

I pay £620 on my C6 RS and i'm 25.

Thats with admiral, but to be honest once this year is up (March) i'll be going elsewhere, NFU/Greenlight/Brentacre/Direct Line anything that actually will give me a good deal and pay out should there be an issue.

£520 and I'm 34. No points or claims, no garage. Not decided on gap as NFU offer new car replacement up to two years old if stolen not recovered or repair would be more than 60% of the value.
That being said, was considering GAP full car replacement for 4 years.
