Not sure I get the black rings in an all black grill, just get completely lost, might as well remove altogether.

I can't see this fascination in "blacking" everything out?

The chrome rings look awful on a car with little or no other chrome in my opinion. If you remove them altogether you are left with a ring shaped mounting bracket (not sure if you can remove this as well on the C7). I normally remove the rear rings altogether and change the front for black ones as it looks so much better than the ghastly plastic chrome.

I don't get why people pick to have the alu pack on their cars as I think it looks awful on any clue car but if that's what they want then fair enough.

Hmm, I have completely the opposite view. The less of that horrible piano black plastic the better. It scratches and really shows it.

The rings are such a small piece of detail it really matters not.

Personally I like the look of the blacked out rings, and might go this route if I go back to an RS6.

That's what I don't entirely get, you can barely see them, it turns the grill into a giant bit of black plastic which looks pretty pony to me. It needs something to break it up.

I'd stick with the 991....Going back to Audi will only drive you to despair.

I agree, I can't stand any chrome on a car manufactured after 1970, especially plastic pretending to be chrome.

And I agree without any rings the front grill would look wrong, it needs something to break up the big space. But, you can still see them in black and it does the job of breaking up the grill without pretending to be from 1968.

But each to their own, I'd hate it if everybody's car looked identical to mine. It's already annoying that Scott already has a C7 and has done what I'd want to do to mine when it arrives!

Well I've not hit 40 so if guess I'm somewhat younger than your old man.

As it happens I'm not particularly a fan of your mods, but as Mike says its be a yawn fest if we all did the same.

Still, won't have to worry about rings for too much longer.

I have just left the Porsche forum. Too old for Porsches now, wanted something more sensible in my dotage. ;)

Silver rings look terrible imo
Much better in black, or like my argon ones in carbon

LOL.. Yes perhaps. Love the Porsche but just not getting enough use out of it. Maybe I should just go mad and replace the R with the RS6! :biggrin2:
