blown diff on rs6 c7

Post by audi786 » Tue Dec 22, 2015 4:49 pm

Hi...I'm new to this site.
I've recently bought rs6 few weeks ago. It's a 14plate with 14k miles. Must've driven 400 miles mostly nice and easy..tested it few times...wow it's a beast! !!!.I don't know if it's my bad luck how can the diff blow?? With such a low mileage. .Rs has full warranty. .so the work will be done ....plus been given a replacement car which is S6 c7. ..I will update u guys later.thanks

WOW - my eyebrow popped up big style at reading that thread title.
Which diff? Maybe it was towed incorrectly at some point instead of flatbedded. Was it an OY or OU plate?
No matter where you go, there you are.

What's the start of the registration number? OY or OU by chance as Bam asked? (These are Audi demo/press cars frequently and can often see a harder life).
Believe only the man who has nothing to gain from what he says.

Even though 14k miles is very poor even if its had a hard life. wonder what diff it is?
BMW 540i
2018 GTR
F90 M5
X3MC
RS3 Saloon
RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though
911 Turbo Remapped. Hated it
F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 600bhp

What were the symptoms that made you think something was wrong - noises, knocking, grinding etc?

It felt heavy. ..sounded more it if one of the rear window were open
Which case I thought it was normal. ...never compared it to another rs6....because it's the first I've driven.

Sounded like the rear window was open while driving on the motorway.

Ross this is a bit naughty. I don't buy into it personally - these cars are made to be driven at the limit at all times.

If they are press cars, they can get ragged terribly; I have been told this by the PR teams two separate car manufacturers. The manufacturers frequently have to put press demo cars into the workshop after they have been loaned out. The best example, of course, is the abuse dished out on Top Gear; all those power slides. Road cars aren't built to take that level of abuse.

But I just realised it's not a ex demo car...bought by owner brand new from factory ...he only done 14k since he had the rs..because I've the invoice to prove...than I bought it.i think the chap must've a heavy foot doing all those power slides lol..
