On the upside, I don't see anybody holding a gun to your head to get a hold of that.

Eddie! Well done for not fighting back. At the end of that day you are in one piece. We had our stolen along with my truck in July. I was racked with guilt for weeks for not getting up and battering them with the baseball bat beside my bed! I don't hear them and was raging for weeks. What helped was knowing my 3 young kids still got their dad!! Good luck bud

Yea Aviva have been good so far.

Just to let you C7 guys know. If any of you have had trackers fitted by your dealer I'd suggest you go back and get them to change it to a Random and more difficult place to be ripped out. I spoke to Audi this morning and asked them to give me an honest answer to this question. " was my tracker fitted in a generic place?". Answer was. "Yes we fit them to where Audi recommend us to fit them". I got quite angry and basically told them what a fooking waste of time that is. Once a thief finds one on a car they can get them in all of them. Proper pee'd me off.

Common issue with RSs. Probably the same for other brands too. They all fit the trackers in one of 2 or 3 places and the thieves know exactly where these places are so render the tracker useless soon after stealing the car.
Surely the industry must come up with an answer to these horrible thefts. There must be a way to protect us from this type of crime. Were we not better off back in the days when cars were easy to steal? Cars are still getting stolen now, probably more than they used to be, but they'd go without and danger to us or our families. I know the answer is not to lower the car security but we were much better off 20 years ago. Someone needs to come uo with a way to make it pointless in stealing these cars. Self destruct button?

Built in trackers, fingerprint scanner, passcode.. I'm not saying one of these, I'm saying ALL of these should be standard.

The crime rate in Singapore is apparently very very low. They dish out some serious punishment for theft crimes and in some instances even the death sentence. I believe they still enforce public flogging which IMO I would pay money to be a spectator and double the money to participate in beating the MOFO's.

Harsh punishments do help, but I also think if we have a way to disable the car, just like how you would disable an iphone or make it display a message/ track its location through the icloud interface, I think cars should be that way too.. It would be pointless to steal car that the owner can switch off from any computer

At least with 3 robberies they have more chance of getting caught!! And it will be higher up the police's priority list than if it was a one off. But it makes me think you are no safer in your tdi.
