C7 satellite navigation issues

Post by marksmithson9846 » Sat Sep 05, 2015 7:01 am

Anyone else having issues with their sat nav? Mine seems to have me always about 10 meters away from my actual position which isn't a problem normally but can be when you come off say a motorway and get to the roundabout and the sat nav thinks your still on the motorway and has re-routed you to the next junction to double back on yourself thus not giving you directions from the roundabout you've just arrived at!

I've had it back to audi who have said the three rs6's they have in do exactly the same and it's been referred to Germany but so far no response - not a huge issue but it annoys me spending £90k on a car and a £100 Tom Tom is more accurate

In this image I am actually on the blue route (I took the photo before it re routed me) but you can see the sat nav thinks I'm on the motorway

on the sat nav, just got back from S of France, had to get into Nice, gave up on the Sat,nightmare, kinda knew where I was going anyway so aborted it,it got totally confused, thought it was me,not so sure looking at your comments !! Bit of advice, don't try to go into the older car parks in Nice or Cannes, did one of the 21 " diamond cuts ,gulp, how I got out of the Cannes one, I will never know, family and friends in the car behind
got out and applauded me-I was just a gibbering wreck, entrance and exit roads are way too narrow. The more modern ones are fine.

Sounds like the nav is not getting a proper GPS signal and is relying on wheel sensors and gyroscope for position. New GPS antenna?

No they have already replaced the GPS antenna found it odd that three of Leeds audi's c7 rs6's have the same fault but they have gone from we will get it sorted to hopefully we will heat back from audi with a fix but nothing yet - it's just not right on a car of this price for the sat nav to be worse than one I could buy at Halfords! !
