4yr old car will be worth at trade £3X
Re: C7 PCP
You sure about that?HYFR wrote:4yr old car will be worth at trade £3X
Take the 13 C7s for sale now. All 60k+. You really think they will lose 20k in 18 months?
I don't see it...assuming the economy stays as is,, hmmmm
Re: C7 PCP
Yes. There is £7k margin on those cars.
If you trade it in, bend over

Re: C7 PCP
Ouch. Does any of that 7k go back to the customer in prep?
Re: C7 PCP
Sorry I meant £7k dealer spread ... So yes to cover their multiple costs and profit
The point is, if you plan to trade in, retail prices are not a good guide
If you are looking to buy a 4yr old C7 then yes they will be £4X

Re: C7 PCP
Just for your info. I put down 20k on my RS6 in June. Had a few extras so 82k on the book price.i ended up with £10800 dealer contribution. Play them hard and get a broker quote to bend their arm. I pay £465 per month over 3 years. PCP over 4 years takes into account a higher depreciation

Re: C7 PCP
I'd completely agree with that - I have a Daytona from Jan 2014 (was around £89k before discount when new, so reasonably specced) with 21k miles on the clock (which I appreciate is a fair amount but it is our daily family car!) and I'm in the process of making a change in the next 6-8 weeks. I've been offered around £52k for it from some Audi dealers (as I'm thinking of changing to a different brand, the other garage is trying to organise a part-ex on my behalf from Audi dealers, as they couldn't sell it themselves).HYFR wrote:Yes. I'm starting to think it might be better to sell it privately - although I'm really cautious about the fact there is Audi Finance on it, and so I'm just imagining scenarios where I end up with no car and still outstanding finance! With my previous S4 I paid the finance off myself first and it was also a £27k sale so not the same kind of worry versus £50-odd-k. I know that you can get the buyer to pay the finance off first and then wait for Audi finance to give the all clear but I imagine that could limit the buyers somewhat. I guess an option would be to try and sell it to someone from the forum who's pretty well known - so they get a bargain and I reduce my chances of being turned over a bit.

Re: C7 PCP
Selling cars with finance is no hardship.
75% of new cars sold are on finance, it's not like your car is infected with the plaque, it's entirely normal.
Buyer has £60k of cash in their bank account, how they divide up who they pay and how is surely not beyond the wit of man.
Hell, I sold a £65k R8 privately with finance on and the buyer bought it on finance with Lombard!
Apparently we even put men on the moon also !

I've got two cars on finance, I think the moon might be easier to understand!

Its definitely worth advertising here to see if any regs are interested. The mileage is a little high for some but you should definitely get more than 52.s4geo wrote:I'd completely agree with that - I have a Daytona from Jan 2014 (was around £89k before discount when new, so reasonably specced) with 21k miles on the clock (which I appreciate is a fair amount but it is our daily family car!) and I'm in the process of making a change in the next 6-8 weeks. It is somewhat harder to sell higher value cars privately. Of course it's doable, but with the risk of theft, tyre kickers etc. dealers know this & thus are happy to remove your pants with a smile on their face. Is quite daunting for sellers as not many folk have £60k cash in a bag to hand over, so quite often finance will be involved & while that too is doable as DK says, it does offer a further level of complexity & risk.
Sold most of my previous higher value cars through PistonHeads & never had an issue, however that's at around the £24-45k mark.
Also bear in mind if your car is on finance then you do benefit from a little bit of security as your lender won't release title until funds are fully cleared, so having the buyer settle the finance company & the balance going to you, with you only releasing the car once the finance company are happy is a small benefit.
