Getting cold feet...
Getting cold feet...
Am I doing the right thing trading my amazing c6 rs6 in for a c7?
Any recent members gone this route? My car is in such a lovely state of tune with the stage 2.
Opinions much appreciated

Re: Getting cold feet...
Can't comment of the dynamics of the C7....but the C6 is awesome under a MRC tune...very quick.
Plus the kudos of the V10 etc etc
I'd love a C7 BUT they seem like ten a penny as oppose to the"rare" C6?
There's 3 C7,s in my town now!!!.....when I had my C6 I hardly ever saw another.
I wonder if the V8 can handle the tunes it has been getting, similar figures to a C6 tune but smaller capacity etc etc....C6 has proved itself in reliability stakes including gearbox.....can the C7 match it? Time will tell??

Re: Getting cold feet...
i've come from a C6 to C7 like a few others on here, albeit a stock one, and whilst the C6 is a pretty formidable car, the C7 is just a step ahead in every respect.... especially dynamically. Its still not an out-and-out sports car but it makes for a more compelling all rounder. However, i doubt the C7 will be quite up to your mapped C6 in the oooommmpppph department in a straight line, given the map.
Might be worth trying to get hold of a C7 for a longer period to gauge prior to committing. Either way, its a nice dilemma to be in!

Sound of a C7 is epic

Yes, that is one thing that I have missed in the c6 is exhaust sound.HYFR wrote:Sound of a C7 is epic

Re: Getting cold feet...
That's the biggest point though , closely followed by interior.RS6chris! wrote:And before any one comments on the handling YES I know the C6 is a boat....can't comment on C7!!
I sold my 997tcab because it all started to feel very dated which is how I feel in the C6 now. A close friend has a stunning white saloon C6 (Mtm 21's & Mtm 730bhp tune) and whilst 'EPIC' in a straight line the cabin (imo) does not compare with the C7.
The C7 with its beautiful front & rear lights, pop up tv and various other new toys is simply the newer more improved version.
I'd avoid the ceramics though as mine are making a hell of a racket and pi$$ing me off tbh but other than that I LOVE it

I had a white C6 with red leather back in 09 and whilst I loved the car the lack of handling was too much, I seem to be able to take libertys with the C7 that I couldn't in the C6.
DMS recently mapped a standard C7 and it recorded a 2.8sec to 60mph!
If you've got the dough, buy and map a C7!

Re: Getting cold feet...
There is no doubt that that owning a V10 is a milestone on the automotive ownership trail. Not many people in life will ever own a V10 (or a V12). And, when the C6 came out it represented the zenith of engine configuration. But the engine world is moving on. Engines are getting smaller (not just Audi, but BMW and MB: they are all configuring smaller engines) as technology delivers more from less. In a few years, we will all be having the same misty-eyed conversation about V8's whilst we drive around in our V6's, or - God forbid - our electric cars. The OP has done the V10, it's time to move down in cylinders and forward with technology.RS6chris! wrote:...

And the rarity of the C6 vs. the C7 is, as far as I can see, an endorsement that the C7 is a more real-world car. The C6 V10 was an incredibly bold and exciting move by Audi, but I think the World viewed it as a peculiarity rather than as a mainstream car, and I think that dictated sales figures. The C7 is a much more complete package: it's more cohesive and - most importantly - it's easier to live with day to day (I get 30 mpg on the motorway, I can live with that as I rack up the miles). Hence they are a more common sight.

Good point
More C7s mean poorer residuals...which means I can get one soon...

Re: Getting cold feet...
Not necessarily, all about supply and demand. Sure, they're less C6s built but a lot less people want them too. From what I'm seeing and from my experience the C7 is the first great halo RS model since the B7.RS6chris! wrote:Good point

Also 2013 poverty spec models are still going for 60k, which isnt bad for 2 years depreciation on a 75k stickered car.

Re: Getting cold feet...
i debated very long and hard between the two before going for C7. Main draws for me ended up being teh interior on the C7. Much higher spec level, C6 feels dated and that will only get worse and many more gizmos on the c7. Lastly over the long run the consumption was an issue for me as i know it would have driven me mad not to be able ever to get proper mpg
Re: Getting cold feet...
Deal was done over the phone through Audi so I will let you know when I see the car on Sat as could turn it down under the distance selling act.Millwallmart wrote:Has this helped you make decision... "Drum-roll"...wrekka wrote:Thank you for all your comments.
