This could be handy for people in the fortunate position of buying Audis new Amar. I've read countless stories of customers asking dealers not to touch cars and to leave the protective transportation plastics in place, only for the dealers to remove them and start hacking the paint around with a gritty sponge, one bucket of water for the entire car and a chamois leather....

:crysmiley:

To be fair, not everyone thinks like us, or gets us. (Enthusiasts.)

Anyone that has seen my RS 6, now 4.5 years old, will tell you, there are no swirls on it (even in direct sunlight), and not a mark, scratch or a curbed wheel to be seen.

I know Gramme's car is the same, and he's just as anal as me about it.

The last person who washed my car was a Swissvax detailer, apart from that, it's only ever been me, two bucket method etc etc...

I turned a complaint into an RS 7 order today, it's not hard.

This does seem crazy when you're spending not far short of 100k on a car and you can't have any colour you want. Little way off for me mind you still new to C6 ownership.

If Amar get's a promotion then they will need to replace him, more than likely with a numpty. :audibash:

Is there no vetting process on how much knowledge they know, most of it is self explanatory and like Amar said earlier he saw an email and has now corrected the info on the colour, and I am sure that info will be in his head until it changes where as some people in the dealers have to keep looking back at the info they had a read of 10 mins prior to been asked again, this is what makes the whole experience of buying the new car un enjoyable because an enthusiast will know more than the sales person.

I think I must be lucky with my local dealer Brighton Audi. The sales guy we always deal with is very knowledgeable and always knows all the details. It clearly works as over the past 3 years as a family we have bought 4 new Audi's .
If your job is sales know your product inside out.
Which dealership are you at Amar??

I see the issue with the premium end of the brand. It's just become part of the general range and the extra knowledge and service has disappeared.

If you're spending 100k on a car if expect to sit in front of someone who knows the product and it's options inside out.

When I started looking at RS6s, I asked an Audi dealer what the differences were (apart from the visually obvious) between the RS6 ans the S6, given that (with discounts factored in) there is some £25,000 difference in purchase price, even after you have specc'd up the S6 to be as close to and RS6 as possible and avoided any RS6 options that are unavailable on the S6. I thought it a reasonable question and one that many prospective buyers would want answered.
They had no idea. "Hang on," the salesman said, "I will ask my colleague, who knows these sorts of things." After a while they came back with "Sports differential" and "DRC". I asked what benefit these bestowed upon the RS6, but they had no real idea. A few minutes later I established that the S6 has the sports differential as standard, by reading the brochure they had given to me, and I already knew that DRC was not standard on the RS6; but I sensed it was a conversation going nowhere.

Doesn't surprise me at all

When my RS4 and RS6 have been on for warranty work and issues....I've found myself telling the "technicians" what the problem is/was?....mainly form forums like this.

Even so they should by default know ten times more than me about RS models?...but no...most are as thick as a sea wall.

RS models are definitely big profit for Audi. Makes the S6 look like a bloody bargain - there's no way the RS6 cost almost 50% as much on top to build.
