Range Rover Sport or RS6
Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
I'm pretty sure that the amg 4 wheel drive isn't coming to uk as in e63 amg form. As I have seen in a few reviews I'm pretty sure only lhd amg 4 wheel drive
Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
Yeah ,that's what he said, would need to wait for next gen:M1R XE wrote:I'm pretty sure that the amg 4 wheel drive isn't coming to uk as in e63 amg form. As I have seen in a few reviews I'm pretty sure only lhd amg 4 wheel drive
An AMG Merc C or E Class would have been ideal if 4X4 but will have to wait for next model to get RHD.
Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
I owe the RS4 an apology. Transpires it was delivered to me with tyre pressures at 35 PSI when should have been 44/45 PSI Front/Rear.
Now much better round the bends and I'm getting used to the dynamic steering. Still a weak link but improving with familiarity (as I forget how good the 991 was)
So as a practical well equipped family car it's a good compromise. I have it set up with everything dynamic apart from ride in Auto and on smooth roads it really hunkers down round the bends when you wells it. Still feels a bit disconnected if a few bumps though. IMO the ride in Auto perfectly acceptable.
Now thinking if the RS6 has better suspension control over bumps it could be The One!

Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
I have had a RRS, see signature, and what a pile of poo!!!! It rolled like a pig in <beep> and my daughter can build better cars. I went for it as I wanted something different which felt special. And it was nice for a bit until it either broke down or the CD player stopped working or the exhaust when or suspension etc.
But the worst was at junctions. Put you foot down to join the junction and wait for it. Count 1, 2 and then it moves. Takes a bit of time to get use to. You have to look at the gap 2 cars away from you.
There is no comparison between the rs6 and rrs. Different car completely. Different universe. The new rrs might be different but I won't be joining the queue for one.

GHH123 I am 12 months into my RS4 but now thinking of a new 911 Targa 4S, how does your RS4 compare to your 911 to live with? My alternate option is a new RS6. Would never consider RRS due to image, no offence to owners!

Had a drive in one recently, and thought it was a fantastic car to drive and a lovely place to waft around in comfort, but the image of RRS owners is terrible
Not only are they driven by most of the knobs on TOWIE, but Jordan has one and all the men that use fake tan and wear Barbour jackets seem to favour them too judging by the people in the showroom and the ones I've seen parking in disabled at the shopping centre

Yep, for me RRS is a nailed on <beep> mobile. They are ten a penny around me, and elsewhere.
Wait for RS6 beginning to grate, going to look at Porsche again.

LOL... Barbour and Land Rover have a commercial partnership
Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
Have never desired to have a Range Rover of any flavour to be honest....but my gut instinct would be it would be a car I regretted getting after a month or two for some reason?

You all said what I thought but was too polite to write. So, RS6 or 911?

Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
Two very different cars so would say once you've decided what you really want from the car, it will dictate which one to go for.
911 for out-and-out sports car, RS6 for one size fits all for a quick load mover but sports car it isn't despite the C7 being an improvement over the C6

I think you've summed it up perfectly. 911, rs6 and RRS are three very different animalsGLM wrote:Two very different cars so would say once you've decided what you really want from the car, it will dictate which one to go for.

Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
I'm still making up my mind having sold my 991s a couple of months ago. For me the RS6 is just a bit too bit big and the version I drove lacked involvement, although the engine is epic. I preferred the RS4 but felt it was let down by the interior plastics and the steering didn't inspire much confidence, I struggled to gauge grip levels, but it may be that I was so far away from losing traction!
I had a session in the M5 and have an M6GC drive booked, might well be off to the dark side, mightily impressed with the M5 in all departments. The RRS is just not on my radar.

Don't fancy another 911?
Re: Range Rover Sport or RS6
No mate, my eldest is approaching 17 and I've decided that I can no longer justify a 'toy', so I'm looking at a family sized car that can provide thrills while putting Mrs Blue into an SQ5 and aforementioned daughter into a mini one. I have a few months to play at car shopping, but at the moment I am leaning in the direction of BMW, really impressed with the technology, drive and finish, they seem to have moved the game on. M5/6 owners are claiming a tank range of 350-400 which appeals as well, as this will be a daily drive.
