My Replacement (New) F10 M5

Couldn't think of a suitable title given this is the replacement for my original F10 M5 that i rejected in March.

Firstly the obvious, i'm blown away by how good the colour combo looks & for that reason am kind of glad i got a 2nd chance as although i really loved Singapore/Silverstone, this MCB/Sakhir just feels more suited to the M5 & the Singapore a bit too safe.

Can't really comment on the drive etc. as i already knew what that was like, as will most of you. A few nice touches on the i guess now 2015 model over the 2014 model i did have. Spotted that now in manual you get an upshift indicator in the dash, you also get a digital speedo under the speedo dial which i'm sure wasn't present before. Also when the map is on the screen & you press the iDrive wheel, you get a pop up menu rather than just the extra icons (RTTI/Audio/Status etc.) appearing/disappearing so you can stop Navigation from that point & a couple of other options. Oddly enough the controls also feel slightly different as the Indicator stalk feels more positive & a full indicator illuminate easier as before i often engaged 3 click instead of full. Not much else appears different other than the extra FOC options which i'm very pleased with as the Rear Camera & Surround View work a treat. Not tried the Internet yet but will do soon no doubt & so far have only managed to programme the garage door into the Universal Remote as the gate isn't pairing but i'm hopeful it will.

Off to my local dealer tomorrow to get them to sort out BMW Remote as it's still linked to the old car & thus i can't migrate that to the new car. I'm very happy again & looking forward to racking up the pre run in service miles & then opening her up following that. Took some piccies during collection yesterday again, but not great quality as taken on my iPhone.

Monte Carlo Blue FTW and should be only for M cars.
Ruined now by a million 1 series and 4 series with M badges on - blinking fakes.

Don't see why everyone knocks the interior on the M5 - i think its stunning and really well laid out - probably the best interior of the whole BMW range

Did you opt for the M Sport seats - Expensive but worth every penny !!

Digital speedo is in the settings for the instruments - turn mine off cause it distracts from the heads up one

Nice colour combo - nearly went for that myself but wasn't brave enough - looks great
Hope you have a better experience with this one

Just watch out for squeaking brakes - doing my nut in now
GGRRRRRRR

Thanks all :beerchug:

Went for a spin & although it could be my imagination, but this one definitely feels tighter (in a good way) than the previous one. Feels more sure footed, steering & balance appear better as well as sharper throttle response etc.

Am really warming to the colour combo now & overall much prefer the looks to my previous car. All works well with the 19's & sun protection glass as the blue & orange lifts the car above the plethora of 5 Series M-Sports.

Looking forward to breaking her Euro cherry in 6 weeks when i'll be hooning down to Le Mans with Phil, then Anglesey in July & Spa in Sept. Fingers crossed that this one continues to perform as she should.

Looking nice, should be run in nickel just in time for Le Mans, I will have a nose round when I'm there

Didn't opt for any upgraded seats so i'm guessing not. TBH having had the previous one for nearly 6 months, i was more than happy with the comfort from the standard seats so didn't consider changing.

Defo feels more planted & eager than the one i sent back, but i'm sure that's purely in my head & of course i've been in the M50D for a few weeks so even the M5 will feel go kart like compared to that.

Loving the colour of the interior, great choice.

I'm so gutted BMW won't be offering a touring version of the F10 M5 as it just leaves me with Audi or Merc to chose from when the time comes.

The C7 RS6 was a consideration but i'm the opposite in that i prefer Saloons to Estates so although the new RS6 was a very capable car, i just would;t have got on with its looks & Audi were expecting me to pay almost double for a C7 than i did for the M5 so became a no brainer.
