What to charge for 4 Michael Jackson tickets??

Post by Russboy » Fri Mar 13, 2009 4:02 pm

I've got 4 of them for Sun 27th Sept, owe me £338 in total. As it turns out Naomi (my fiance) has already got 2 in July (2 rows behind my tickets!!) so I don't need these now.

A mate has offered me £600 already as its his birthday that day, but looking on ticketmaster where people are selling the tickets they've bought, the minimum in the block mine are in (block 109) are £320 a ticket!!!! Doesn't mean they're actually selling at that price though.

Here's the seating plan:

So whilst they may be towards the back, they are looking directly at the stage

Mmmm, what to do, need the money really as i'm fairly skint at the mo,

Thoughts? Discuss.............

sell them for face value, let a REAL fan enjoy the concert and not make a profit.
NOT suggesting you would but it looks like already people are being just down right bloody greedy by sticking tickets on ebay for 000's of pounds each.
its not fair to those who genuinely want to go and a rip off for those who cant go at face value and have to either miss it or pay WAY over the odds.
I think its wrong to do such things, but hey, its the world we live in!!

I'm with quattrokid1 - face value to a fan is the only right thing to do. Only problem (having been there many times before) is establishing who's a real fan...

I tend to sell (or sometimes even give) spares out on the night in a local pub - rather that than sell them to tout scum

By replying to the Jacko thread, please don't think I'm talking about Jacko tickets!!

It pains me to see tickets selling at all for these concerts - the man is an oxygen thief who shouldn't be allowed to perform in this country just to enable him to pay off his debts.
Give your money to childline instead and help children affected by people like him !

Any views welcome !

i am all for selling to a real fan at face value
Shame were all TOO greedy when the numbers get silly.
Oh and remember if the concert gets cancelled you only get face value back!
even if you paid £5K or £10K or even £100k

Sell them for the market rate, ie as much as possible. Surely its only the same as pullin someones pants down when the car prices/market is good?

Dave

PS If you are offering them your mate at £600, i'll have them for £700 and charge £320 on eBay myself ;)

I'm probably opening myself up to flack, but this subject really grates me....

Its because of "free enterprising", greedy c***s like this that mean I've been unable to either get tickets for Rugby matches and concerts in the past, (because people snap them up only to profit from them), or been unable to afford them for the same reason!!!

I've lost count of the amount of times I've missed out on "sold out" events when there seem to be hundreds of tickets on eBay.

Thats fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I originally got the tickets as my fiance desperately wanted to go, and she managed to get 2 tickets about the same time I got my 4! So I find myself in this situation rather than planning to be in it. When I bought the 4 I bought 4 rather than 2 as I knew various friends would happily join us if I were able to get any tickets at all.

I may not even end up selling them in the end as my cousin wants all 4 off of me for my uncles 50th birthday and I obviously wouldnt look to make money out of family.

Who knows, if its any good when we go I might go again on the other 4 tickets with some friends

Your having a laugh, I aint against the jackson, but what a Huuuuugggggeee waste of money. Life is about experiences, and live gigs can be great memorable occasions, but the things you could do with even £600, let alone the £x,000's puts a wacko concert a long way down the que, you probably wont be able to see him in an arena that size anyway because of the curvature of the earth (old jack dee joke).
