Counterfeit DVD's

Hi All,

I recently been ripped off by an online DVD retailer. The company is UK based.

I purchased three Disney DVD's, all of which are quite blatantly fake/counterfeit product. Honestly they are laughable and the quality is very very poor.

Now the retailer in question won't offer a refund as two of the discs have been opened.

PayPal, have rejected a claim (<beep> tossers will get out of anything if they can, a very poor company)

Now I have a reall 'bee in my bonnett' about this transaction and counterfeit product in general. I was forced to close down my 1st business as I was unknowingly selling counterfeit kit - I also nearly had a spell at 'her majesty's pleasure' because of it.

The difference is, this idiot knows what he is selling.

I have reported him to several websites, but really want to get excited about it and cause a real issue for him (BTW i'm not normally this bitter  ... Honest)

Can anyone suggest anything.

I hate getting ripped off.

Tom

If you paid by CC through Paypal then tell your CC company, or your bank. They will return the money to you and Paypal lose out.

I did a similar thing a few years ago. You will get Paypal threats for a few months then they go away and close your OD balance.

Just open another account and off you go.

The moral of the story is PAYPAL SUCK!

You can call the police. That'll cause them issues. Also, while paypal say "hey, it's against our terms and conditions to use your credit card company to fight a battle with us", what they actually mean is "please don't do that. Legally, there's nothing we can do to stop you. But we'll get really angry. And we'll probably not deal with your account again if you do that!". So, tell your credit card company, and see how many lawyers you can set on them at once. The trick here is making it someone else's problem to fight it, rather than yours.

You could also let us know who they are and we can avoid them like them like the plague. You can also speak to Watchdog- they love stuff like this.

It would be good if we all knew who this retailer was....however you might need to be wary of lible laws by committing such comments to "print"?

When you spoke with Trading Standards - was it your own local office of the office local to the retailer?

Tom I tried to hunt down Lion DVD, but no success.

Do you know if they are trading under another name? Or do you have a business address for em? If so, send those over to us and I'll try again.
