Hey Doc take it easy and make a quick recovery. Guess you won't be getting any drinks on the house you hit.

ok the morphine is out of my system now so i can finally rember stuff for more than a few minutes. still dont know what happened, but injuries are:

left tibia broken in 2 places - repaired with internal nail, but swelled up (compartment syndrome) during repair, so had to be sliced open (faciotomy)
right femur broken - repaired with internal nail
right fibula broken (?left as well) - left to heal on its own
right humerous broken - repaired with a plate (nice scar)
right clavicle broken - mending on its own
left ulna shattered at elbow - repaired with plate - a bit sore but almost full use already

i can walk short distances with a fair amount of pain, but its getting better as the days go by. im hoping to get out of hospital next week. excuse the writing this patientline keyboard is <beep>!

photos to follow once i get out.

Good to hear you're getting better. Wish you a speedy recovery

Sooner you get out the sooner you can sort your next motor. :)

Yay for going home! Next weekend I'll be up in Manchester and have some time on Saturday if you want a visitor. If you do, drop me a PM with where you actually are.

the pictures of the wreck really upset me when i see them. seeing my pride and joy in that state is only part of it - the thought of what could have happened if my family was in the car with me is the real worry.

looking at the mangled mess that was my car, its a miracle that nobody was killed in this accident. im taking it as a polite warning from whatever powers govern the universe. one thing is for sure - my driving style will have major revisions when i get back on the road. the 'thrill' factor becomes less important to you when something like this happens.

looks like my next car will probably be an audi all-road diesel auto. my 'sub-supercar' days are over (for now), although i will be treating myself to a few lambo or ferrari track days with the money i save on fuel

Not a bad plan you have there.

When we changed our family car recently I went for a 5 star EuroNap car. Limited my choice's a bit but when you see the difference it can make I thought it worth while.
