Spotted at the Bristol Italian Car and Bike Show, last year. Yes, it's sparkly.

I think you should ride this though:

That MV was in the bike shop just around the corner for ages, the bloke was local to cheltenham and has clearly spent a fortune on it. When I eventualy free up some spare cash I think I am going for a 1098S. I currently have a 55plate FZ1, basically a naked streetfighter based scene with a 2004 R1 engine. Quite a lot of fun, although does need a power commader and an exhaust. I have the power commander downstairs and as soon as we get a combination of some good weather and some spare time I can bung it on and see what happens.

Other than that I have mostly had Jap bikes TZR125, FZR400RR, ZX-6R, FZR1000R EXUP, NC30 although I did take a 748 out once (when Dick Lovitts in Swindon had a franchise) to begin with I kept smacking my nuts on the tank as I banged off the rev limiter, but after a while you get used to the red line being at 7000rpm and get into it.

Will post some pictures if I can find any.

So not sure if I helped? Bascially I always fany a Ducati and end up with another Jap bike. Usually because of an 0% deal or a ridiculous bargain, I'd struggle to spend 16K on a Duc when you can get an R1 for £6800 interest free.

This is my NC30, I promised the wife that I could live without a bike - so bought an NC30 that was nackered and spent loads of cash on it. Endurance fairing, lightweight kevalr exhaust, VFR750 wider rear, uprated and lifted rear shock, complete 998 front end including brakes. Brembo master cylinder etc etc - anyway I ended up doing about 5K. In the end though it was still to slow - and with the racing rearsets and single seat it was <beep> uncomfortable.... lesson learnt :bash:

Bike is up for sale soon if anyone's interested.

Alex,
zx9r is a nice bike, but you can never have too much power
I have an 08 R1 as a commuter (500 miles a week). I make a point of finding the red line at least once on every journey :D
It uses half the petrol the RS4 does, but I do miss the heated seats the car has on a cold morning :)

The mille is a nice bike too, but I wouldn't have one over a Ducati.
As I said before, its all about personal choice and what you want to use it for.
For me the Ducati is hard to beat for character, for low(er) cost running over high miles though, go jap every time.

get some heated handlebar grips, its the best modification you will ever make to a bike :nogarors4:

i had a very deep emotional attachment to the RSV Mille which was made much worse by the fact i couldn't sit on the damn thing being so short of leg. i ended up with a GSX-R1000, it's like marrying your wife but still lusting after her sister.

hehehe, it was the first thing I did to it when I got it home :)
I have heated grips on the ST4S too, fitted since new.

I wish the RS4 had a heated steering wheel (like range rovers), and the R1 had a heated seat (like the new beemers do ;) )

Heres a pic of my 996, and the garage just after I brought the ST4S. No pics of the R1, and its dirty at present, but it looks just like the Blue 08 R1 on the yamaha website.
