We went for a Sony 32"...dunno which model though! Digital terrestrial reception is crap so have to rely on analogue but we use the Sky HD box all the time as the picture quality is so much better.

I'd recommend you check a few out at John Lewis - they are pretty impartial and offer a 5 year guarantee as standard and if you are having problems they will send someone around to sort it for you.

It is worthwhile getting them to retune the tvs to BBC or Sky News so that you get the scrolling stuff across the bottom of the screen - some TVs cope with this better than others.

UPDATE: Thanks for the info fellas, I ended up getting a LCD 40" Sony Bravia X series (one with the glass outer frame), must say im rather impressed, even all the free view channels!...happy days

The best Tv's bar none are pioneer,the best picture and sound but pricey.you get what you pay for.If you go lcd samsung are best but turn off all the fancy noise reduction and picture processing features that are on by default.Plasma still gives best picture though difference is less than it was,however they do use more power also turn colour and contrast down for first 100 hours or so to prevent screen burn - do that and it will not happen after that

one and only tv - 40" LCD HD Bang & Olufsen massive outlay bit like the car but never looked back bit like the car!!!!
