Just watching Monkey in the supercharged Nomad on Extra Gear. Already 100% better than Top Gear.

Harris for presenter anyone?

I thought for a Sunday night viewing and being car related programme it was OK ish....LETS HOPE IT DOES IMPROVES

I preferred the presentation from MlB, Evans well it's Evans

I would have liked ze German totty to have swapped cars and see how she handled the VIPER perhaps tracked Evans down with live rounds

I hope Clarkson's new show takes off where it left off

I was surprised how similar to the old one they kept it. To start with 'Coming up on tonights show' then introduced the stig with 'some say he… ' I though was a bit odd as everyone thinks of that as part of Clarksons bit, they might as well have ended with 'and on that bombshell' (which they joked about). And the challenges are pointless, they were getting less and less about cars before bit we put up with them because the trio were actually very funny, I was hoping that this series, without the funny 3, it would be more about the cars and less about vaguely car related challenges.

x2 - It was always going to be a hard act to follow, so why shoot yourself in the foot and try?

Overall it was a bit luke warm for me, even if I did chuckle a couple of times. More Sabine and more Chris Harris please. Hopefully they'll grow into their roles and develop as a team together, the Exta Gear episode was fun and a good addition to the format. First episodes never have the best content car wise, so looking forward to seeing what else they bring to the table from the automotive world. It has been off air for so long, that there is a great pool of cars to choose from and include.

X 3 very disappointing that they aren't using any refreshed format! They've had a year to tune it in the background.

Agree, more Harris and Sabine would mix in nicely.
Joey was OK, but the US of A novelty will wear thin quickly.

I got a feedback email from 'Top Gear survey' 5 minutes after the show.

The wife was one of the non motoring fans of TG and wanted to watch it but was out last night so we recorded it on our vcr , I watched I before she got home and made out I hadn't and was far from overwhelmed but did find Matt le blank good in a dry sort of way . We watched it together and she was not impressed at all with it being Evans trying to be JC and shouty so she wasn't impressed which was interesting, this being a large chunk of the audience they wowed over the years

Only just got round to watching it. What a massive disappointment

I actually fell asleep for a few minutes.

Extra gear was a bit more engaging.

Let's hope the new team get it together and the show improves. I'm also hoping Chris Evans gets fired.

Ha, the guy in that article is talking tosh. I didn't replace the VCR because it wasn't fashionable anymore, I went in the bin cos it was rubbish and finally there was a much better replacement with Sky plus and computers.
