World record for pull ups over 24 hrs

Post by RIV » Mon Jan 21, 2013 10:43 pm

Well on the 2 march my best mate is going to attempt to break the world record for pull ups over 24 hrs!!!
He needs to beat 4620. He is 48 years old ex european thi boxing champ, if anybody can do this it's him, mentally he is hard as nails, he's done 36 hours of non stop exercise for charity before, running cycling and rowing, it's for Macmillan cancer so for a good cause, place your bets on how many you think he will manage

I might be able to do 3 in a minute. Rapidly followed by some chips and a beer.

But that pace for 24hrs? Really?? The guy must be a machine. What does he do for food and drink, and toilet breaks?

Ha! 3 a minute may sound easy ...but I don't know anyone that can do even one ... In a hour! ... Out of interest what's the criteria? Can he switch grips ... And what exact range of movement is required?

Usually it's the top of the head completely below the bar lifting until chin is on the top.

Ads very true. We used to do 110 in 15 minutes as part of a training sessions.

Pyramids training. Starting of doing 10, then rest then 9, then rest then 8... Until down to one, then back up to 10.

He is a machine, there's not many like him, his resting heart rate is so low the doctors asked him to come back in to double check,I'm not sure what he's doing regarding the toilet, maybe he having a soak away put in his trainers
He can hold the flag for over ten seconds, try even getting your feet off the floor it's super hard, all he ever does down the gym is against his own body weight, he can do some mad stuff, it's a mammoth task, I just hope does it

Best of luck to him. Let us know if there's a site we can donate to. Having had my mother, father, father-in-law, wife, and sister-in-law touched by various cancers I know from experience the McMillan nurses are brilliant.
