Mrc website is rubbish

Post by s4marsh » Sat Aug 22, 2009 7:07 pm

does anyone else get annoyed at websites that instead of putting prices for stuff they sell put P.O.A instead like 90% of theirs ? if they have sold it before they know how much it costs.... or do they want to make the price up depending on how they feel that day. If i find a similar product on another site quoting prices i'm more likely to buy there and then rather than have to ring round wasting time as most of my purchases are made at night when trying to avoid talking to the g/friend.

The prices of a lot of parts coming from Europe were changing pretty much by the day at the start of the year..

This may not be the only reason, but as an example PSS9's for jumped about £300 simply due to the exchange rates for the £ going down the toilet - thats also why VAGParts went bust. A lot of suppliers further down the chain were not publishing prices for parts either.

I would be more sceptical of another supplier who has not changed their prices at all recently.

Drop them an e-mail if you need a confirmed price.

You can't buy anything from us at night as we are not a mail order company.

Prices are changing every week - we use the webpage to show what products we supply and fit here.

We'll make an effort to change all the POA.

There is also the good point that you can talk to a human being and then discuss your wants and needs, get feedback and other advice as well. This is very important when you consider that the majority of users here and elsewhere will have different cars in one way or another. It's not the same as buying a book from Amazon.

I think its a very good site, MRC are only about a 15 min drive away from me. Wanted them to do some work on my S8. I must have called ten times over three days but couldn't get through about two weeks ago so had it done elsewhere! Have they been closed?

the current website is good i think hits the target market very well - even the old webiste was good but just lacked up to date info. bit of a harsh critique there from the OP.

the point being you are good at your job fixing/tuning motors, not putting up a website. surely better than the amd way flashy website crap at tuning/fixing motors.. if the website bothers you that much pay a professional to do it and keep it updated for you.. personally i think websites are a waste of time to a degree.. word of mouth/recommendation will always win you custom..

I some how like the idea of being able to talk to someone about what you want and then decide whether they fit in my pocket or not.
Also
