Just a snippit from a previous post by 'Pippyrips'
"my old pads were scoring the discs even though the stealer said they had 50% wear left, i got they them to replace them FoC with the arguement being if i waited till the warning lights came on the discs would be ruined.... "

I do belive that that is him admitting the Discs are scored!

Just to set the record straight... the pins in the my old brake pads did indeed start to cause very minor scoring, as soon as they did i took the car to Audi who replaced the pads FOC, i can assure you if there was any long term damage to the discs Audi would have been replacing them at the same time.....the early signs of the pin scores went within 2 months of the new pads going.....a long time ago.

At no point along the way did i treat copperhead as stupid or anything else for that matter, in fact quite the opposite - i drove half the journey to met him to view the car, was polite and curtious thoughout, even afterwards when he only communicated via texts.... and when i did turn his offer down it it was with a 'thanks, but no thanks...' Pretty fair i think?

I got the chance to compare my discs to a set that have done 10k less miles yesterday and both sets looked identical.

Anyway her new owner will be along soon enough to vouch for the car...

I thought I would just chip in for the sake of it.

IMO Copperhead has come across ok to me and pretty much the rest of the posters in this thread have come across as arogant twats.

I dont know how much less he offered because the brakes were scored, but its fair to ask for the price to be knocked down a bit.
As for other people saying "well there okay, because they are all like that" is just ignorant (If there was a problem with the brakes failing completely and it was an issue with alot of cars that required getting fix, would you just say, its okay, they all do that?
If your trying to sell a car as one of the best examples around, it should be that.
He shouldnt have to deal with replacing the brakes unless this is represented in the price (The scoring should only be his problem if it wasnt there when he bought the car.)

IMO Pippy and Copperhead seem like they are both entitled to their opinions and nothing more should happen. But the rest of you have come across as playground bullies who wanted to jump in and bully the "newbie" because it contested something against the "popular kid"

Hopefully that will be the end of it and you can all sit on the naughty step and think about what you have done.
