This engine is not a running unit. It has been removed from my car due to an inlet manifold flap failing and dropping into cylinder two. You can see in the pictures from the bore scope shows the broken parts inside the engine and that it has scored the bore so at a minimum it will require a full rebuild or could be turned into a coffee table etc. I’ve only seen one other rs4 coffee table for sale in Germany and that was £1200 on its own so with the rest of the parts sold it would easily cover the cost of a table project. I wanted to make it into one but I don’t have the time to sort it out so would just like it gone as a whole so I can start looking for another rs4.
The engine has covered 121k miles, I had the car for 4 month before it failed. Engine had a carbon clean last November and is still spotless. I have invoices for the timing chains, clutch assembly replaced within the last 5/6 years which cost over £6k!
The engine failed while sat at traffic lights, it began to idle irregular and started flashing the eml, which I thought was a coil pack failing. I drove a further 150 yards and the car cut out completely and I managed to coast to a safe area. The engine has ran with the parts inside for no more than 1 minute total which includes it starting to fail in traffic and restarting to diagnose the fault at the road side. The car was towed home and I used a camera to check the internals. I didn’t get further than cylinder two which is where it had failed.

Power steering pump
Water pump and pipes
Sump/oil pan ( baffles damaged from sitting on a tyre)

Engine can be shipped via paisley freight for £70 on a pallet or can be collected in person. I have a crane here to help load it into your van.
