Im after one to purchase, but not the "fake/hacked" leads that are going for £50-60

I have seen a few on ebay, but the sellers are willing to let the action run rather than taking an offer. Will hold out for a while in case one pops up here.

If you just want a one-off scan there are plenty of people around happy to help.
If you want to buy one, everyone is very well aware of the "going rate" for a genuine unlimited-VIN lead and £400 is in that ball-park.

And remember, with the limited-VIN versions you can do quite a bit on an unlimited number of vehicles (especially older ones), so enthusiasts can still help their mates; it's only full commercial users that are likely to feel restricted.

It’s cheaper to buy a new 10vin and upgrade it to unlimited than pay some of the eBay prices lately for a used unlimited. That’s what I’m going to do once my 10 are used. That way you have warranty and can register it in your name for support

I have one. Genuine Gendan supplied in 2017 USB HEX+CAN Unlimited. 300 delivered. They are all going for more than that on ebay

Yes you can. If Dean has never registered his one, then it'll be free. Otherwise a new owner registration is $99.

Support is just a little used forum or email direct, I use VCDS a fair bit but have never needed to utilise their support.

you"ll never need support,plenty info on the net for coding etc -plus ross tech dont promise continued support-they make that very clear

i tried a proper cable and found it no different to my decent copy so sold it again,done plenty coding etc with the copy no issues

I dont know if i registered it. Never used support and never get emails etc.
