V10 rs6 front brake callipers and pads. Removed from my c5 rs6 now going back to standard.

Pads pretty much new, covered 2000miles tops!

The callipers need a repaint. Pistons/ nipples/pins are perfect. In perfect working condition.

Am new to the C5, so excuse my stupid questions

a) I have to assume that these are better than the stock C5 brakes, but how much better on a scale of 1 = same to 10 = twice as good.

b) Are they a bolt-on replacement?

c) what kinda pads?

d) Are the discs as new as the pads? If not, what thickness left?

e) Hoses required/included?

Bigger discs and larger sweep so better for repeated big stops, also cheaper pads (OEM are proper Brembo). Callipers bolt straight on, HOWEVER, using the C6 RS6 OEM discs will require a spacer behind the bell or hub, not the best thought making its way to the frontal lobe of your brain when you start really 'pushing on'.
The alternative is (as I and others have done) to get some custom bells made up and couple to AP/Alcon/whatever 390mm rotors. That way you end up with correct offset AND much better braking performance to the C6 OEM disc, the former will have miles better air-gap, vane counts and materials, they'll also be directional - the OEMs aren't, which boils my blood.
I can sell you a spacer kit for the C6 discs but I'd advise going for a custom disc setup.

I went another route but it works out a hell of a lot more expensive than this and most likely isn't as good at stopping. The kit the op is selling is a bargain

Bams custom discs bump the price up a bit but would deffo be worth doing. That's the way I'd go if I was upgrading again. I bought bigger discs from the states that use the standard caliper, just spaced out a bit.

I might as well let the Discs I have go with these to, now included in price is a very decent pair of C6 front discs.

Just stumbled across this thread...........and appreciate it's a few weeks old now.

Interested to know if the C6 front pads and disks etc are still up for grabs as I could be interested, I'm due a change soon.

Discs have plenty of life, a easy 20k and pads have very little wear.
