WANTED: C5 rs6 front brakes or B7 rs4 calipers

as in title really,
looking for the full 8pot setup from either an RS6 or RS6+. meaning calipers, pads, discs, lines and carriers.
also interested if anyone has a set of B7 RS4 front calipers (with carriers) as they are the same.

Hi there. Are you still after this kit? I removed my 8 pots off my 60K mile RS6 and the 4000 mile RS6+ front discs, which I have had skimmed to make sure that they are in the best condition possible for resale. I also have a set of Carbotech XP-10 pads too but they have to be sent off to Ian at Carbotech to skim them for me too before I can sell those too. Those are boxed up, I just haven't got around to sending them to him yet.

Footlong, how much/where did you have your brake discs skimmed?

I don't honestly know what price to ask. I had the discs skimmed by TFS Racing in Aldershit. They are Scooby modification specialists and I trust their work. Despite the Cross drilled front discs only being 4000 miles old, the Carbotechs chewed in to them well with my driving so I had TFS do a deeper skim on both discs. They have about 33mm on each disc, which with normal, non-mental pads, is pleeeenty of life. All of the pistons are working on the calipers to my knowledge and the pad wear backs this. They just have the standard decal fading on them.

Would £700 collected for the front calipers, skimmed RS6+ discs and the Carbotechs (once back from being reprepped by Carbotech) seem a good price? I think that is is based on the fact that the discs cost me close to £500 alone and I paid £60 to have them skimmed and I got a "deal" on the XP-10 pads new at £350!

That's a very fair price, you'll sell them for that. Put them on SRS - they'll sell on there, the mods don't mind newbies selling with only 1/2 posts, as long as you don't.
Anyway, what I was asking was what price did you pay to have the discs skimmed? I am going to get my rear discs and old plus discs skimmed and cannot find anyone to do it.

He said they were bloody good, another C5 owner has them and says the same. But they sometimes squeel, but my oem pads squeel. I can't believe these haven't been bought yet at the price he mentioned.

The XP-10 pads tear your face off when braking compared to C5 OE pads. The raw performance is a good deal better than my current uprated C6 setup with OE pads too.
I firmly believe that the increasing levels of squealing were down to the inner discs getting hot but the flaming disc guards being so close to the inner side of the discs and leaving pretty well no area for air to get to the discs whatsoever, let alone for the holes to unclog. All of the holes on the inner were clogged up with really packed in XP-10 compound, to the point that I drilled the compound out of each hole before sending them off for skimming.
As a result of my findings I have removed the disc guards altogether since removing the C5 setup.
