The kit consists of:
- Camlock bar (Genuine AUDI T40005)
- Crank/camshaft pulley puller (Genuine AUDI T40001)
- Crank locking pin (Genuine AUDI T40237)
- Hydraulic Damper locking pin (Sealey T40011)
- Lock carrier extension bolts for getting access to the timing belts (LASER 3369)
- Tensioner hold lock (Genuine AUDI T40009)
- Cam pulley holding device (BERGEN Aftermarket tool with multiple adapters)
The additional non standard tools that are needed to carry out a timing would be a torque wrench to tighten everything up. I'd suggest 2 torque wrenches are needed as some bolts need a low amount and most torque wrenches only cover certain loads 50-100Nm etc..
Every other tool needed (as included in the guide) should be common to most competent mechanics.
The kit is available to hire to anyone in the UK, for a 2 week period - that should give you enough time to finish the job. Due to the value of the tools I will expect payment of £200 on intial loan of the tools. Upon return of the tools you will get a refund of £150 *
Local collection or delivery within 15 miles of OX26 4 area. Postage will be additional cost although I am willing to cover some of the outgoing postage. Hirer's will be expected to pay all of the return mailing costs.
I will include an Audi guide to the cambelt change on a C5 RS6 which shows all the steps needed and torque ratings. Please be aware that carrying out a timing belt change on any car is quite a serious task, so not for the amateur DIYer. If for example you rent the tools and subsequently bend some valves I hold no responsibility for ANY damage. Similarly, I hold no responsibility for the mis-use of the tools and/or the how to guide included.
The hirer of the tools shall not re-hire the equipment to anyone else, but they can be used on any number of vehicles they own for a period of 2 weeks. The 2 week period starts when the hirer receives the tools and finishes 14 days after. If additional time is needed then subsequent charges will be required - each additional 7 days will cost £15. Once the 2 week period is completed I will expect confirmation that the tools have been posted back with the appropriate postage/tracking information.
In the event that tools are lost, damaged or not returned I will not refund the costs to replace those tools. A breakdown of the individual tools can be supplied if requested.
Payment will be needed a few days prior to the kit being sent out, so no money is needed until I have all the kit returned from any previous agreements. Hirers will be contacted on an individual basis with regard to availability of the tools, time slots, and I won't book people in straight after eachother, just incase more time is needed by anyway.
This hiring agreement is independant of the RS246 forum, therefore the RS246 forum holds no responsility or liability.
