Dear all,

For sale is my fantastic but now little-used toy.
I am having no luck selling this on pistonheads. As it is only being sold to make way for an RS6, I thought I would pop it up on here too...

It is a high-powered, black magic Mk4 Golf.
It started life as a Mk4 Golf GTI in 2001 and after quite some time the previous owner started modifying it. It was transformed progressively into a magazine featured 'Stage 3+' 350bhp monster, thanks to Audi Performance and Racings' (APR Tuned) up-rated hardware and software - the heart of which is the Garrett GT28RS.
I have owned the car since 2009. I bought it to do track days and 'ring trips but as these have not occurred frequently, it has mostly been used as a daily driver and for weekend back road blasts. It has been fun to own and drive. Really damn fun to drive!
A recent air leak resulted in a beautiful Pipewerx custom exhaust manifold and turbo-back 3" exhaust, fitted 5 weeks ago (£1400).

There have been 3 previous owners and it has now covered over 157000miles. There is a full service history, with most services carried out well in advance of schedule and oil changes every 5-8,000miles since I have owned it. Last cambelt change in Oct 2010. Brake fluid changes frequently too using Motul RBF 600 (will be done again next week).

Engine:
APR Stage 3+ turbo conversion, incls:
APR Cast 3" MAF housing
Aluminum turbo inlet pipe with silicone joiners
Garrett GT28rs APR modified turbo
APR Fuel pump
APR fuel injectors
APR mapped ECU
Pipewerx custom tubular stainless steel exhaust manifold
Pipewerx custom 3" turbo back exhaust, incl downpipe with high-flow CAT.
Forge 007P diverter valve
Forge large core Front Mount Intercooler
Saikou Michi Catch Tank
VibraTechnics Fast Road engine and gearbox mounts

The engine was fully rebuilt following the conversion (at ~103,000miles) in order to safely manage the increased power and intended track work. This included:
Mahle 81mm Pistons
Scat Rods
Supertech inconel exhaust valves
Jabbasport baffled oil sump

The engine was then removed at ~152,000miles by Awesome GTI for a full inspection and correction of an exhaust leak. Any niggles were fixed at the time. The exhaust leak was ultimately beautifully repaired by Pipewerx.

Transmission:
5-speed manual gearbox with Quiafe LSD
Neuspeed short-shift kit
Sachs organic clutch kit
Lightened, balanced single-mass fly-wheel

Suspension:
Bilstein PSS coilover suspension
Powerflex rear polybushes
SuperPro front polybushes
Neuspeed front and rear ARBs
Geometry reset after suspension work

Brakes:
Tarox B32 6-pot front calipers
Tarox 2 piece grooved front discs
Standard rear calipers
Tarox grooved rear discs
Tarox carbon-ceramic pads

Wheels:
BBS CH02 18" alloys
Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric tyres (>6mm all round)

Exterior:
Oettinger front grill
Oettinger front splitter
Single wiper 'conversion'
VW xenon headlights
Hella 'Magic' Smoked rear lights
Mk5 rear wiper blade and arm conversion
Bee-sting aerial
Recent full professional detail using G-techniq products

Interior:
Usual GTI spec incl wood (effect) trim!
Recaro seats
R32 air vents
Standard radio and in-dash CD player

The whole car is in very good condition. The usual drivers seat bolster wear has been repaired.

The car is located near Blackburn, Lancashire.
I frequently travel to Edinburgh and Aberdeen, so it could be viewed there if serious interest.

I am looking for £4,500. You can have it for less if you supply your own wheels!

Cool, let me know.
It will most likely have the brake fluid replaced in the next week too.

I just had a look at your ad - nice car but I need an estate. It reminded me though that the Golf had all 4 coil-packs replaced last year under recall.

Yes i will be in touch if it sells, not had any interest yet though and I have made it cheap to shift it.

Always the way, see how it goes

Car will be available ubtil mid-November, then it will be SORN till summer.
If anyone is interested, let me know. I may be tempted by offers as it seems a waste to be in a shed for all that time!

Cheers

Aaron
