This is a truly underrated sports car which never feels to impress, and the 240bhp VTEC engine is absolutely outstanding. It was the most powerful 2.0 litre engine in the world when it was first made in 1999. This was a £30,000 car when new.
The car runs and drives perfectly without any issues.
This is the updated 2002 model, which came with such upgrades as new suspension and the plastic rear window was replaced by a glass unit incorporating an electric defroster. Other updates included slightly revised tail lamps, an upgraded radio, and a revised engine control unit.
There are a few stone chips on the front bumper, which you would expect from this age of car. There is a slight scuff on the near side of the front bumper. There is also a tiny stone chip on the windscreen which is barely noticeable. The condition of the body work is otherwise excellent, and looks like new once polished.
The rear near side and the front far side alloys have a few scuffs on them, but the other two are in great condition.
The interior is in really fantastic condition. The driver seat has a few creases on the right bolster (very common on all cars with leather seats), but the passenger seat is flawless. None of the car’s owners have been smokers, so the interior still smells very fresh and leathery. The steering wheel has no marks on it, and neither does the gear stick. The carpet is also in great condition, and the car comes with genuine S2000 car mats, bought for me for one Christmas!
The car is in completely stock condition – no performance enhancements, and has most certainly not been abused (it was also very clear the previous owner took great care of it as he kept every single receipt for it, and was VERY sad to see it go).
The rear tyres are Bridgestone 225/50R16 and are about 12 months old. The front tyres are Toyo 205/55R16 and are brand new (put on at the recent service). All 4 tyres have loads of wear left, and will last for a long time.
The battery is only a few weeks old.
The front brake pads are brand new.
MOT – due June 2012. The only advisory was about the front tyres, and they are now new so no longer a problem.
TAX – the car is currently SORN.
There is tonnes of paper work, including receipts, invoices, service documentation, MOTs etc
The car is completely HPI clear with no outstanding finance.
This car has been meticulously maintained and mechanically it is 100% perfect. The oil has also been kept at the correct level and it has always been given premium unleaded fuel.
