Hi,

I have a new car coming in mid-July and will be parting with our blue, light grey leather, RS5 cabriolet between now and then.

We're replacing two cars with one as my son is 17 now and we've had to get something with less than 8 cylinders that he'll be allowed to drive - but now I can't get my car out!

I don't really want to take the hit on part-ex, so, before I get round to advertising it properly, just wanted to see if there was anyone on here that wanted to make me an offer.

Hi Paul,

The spec is all the usual goodies plus heated rear seats, lane assist, B&O sound, 20" wheeels, carbon boot lip spoiler, keyless go, auto headlight dimming, auto wipers, auto mirror dipping, cruise control. NOT folding mirrors! Anything in particular you think it should have?

It's had its first service and an inspection service this month.

Condition is almost spotless bar some very light scuffing of a couple of the rims - see attached photo.

Regarding price, hard to say. Dealers have older cars with many more miles up for £42 - £44k and I see a couple of 8k milers for crazy money with private sellers. I doubt they'll sell though.

I'd be happy with something over £40k. Timing is key as the Mrs doesn't want to be without a convertible for June. A good offer could change her mind :)

Any other piccies you'd like to see?

Thanks mate - it's shame it doesn't have the sports pack, but it's still a high-spec car :-)

I'd put it on tootle for 42k :-)

From the side picture it looks to have black exhaust tips, so should have sports pack Paul.

I think it must have the sports pack as it has the 20" wheels, the dynamic steering and the DRC suspension, which together cost £1,200 more than the sports pack - without allowing for the £900 exhaust. I bought the car from VAG with 2,500 miles on it so didn't get to spec it myself.

Also, it has the HDD music system.

Oh, and it's had a very easy life....

I'll take a look at tootle - thanks Paul, good shout.

Wow, thanks for the tip Paul, I put it up on Tootle and the world's gone crazy - I've got one offer that'll let me keep the car for a month while I wait for the new one.

I might have to sell something else now, that was fun!

No worries, it can be a great site and it avoids the need to sell privately - the biggest plus for me.

Was good to have a chat on Friday! Glad you've got a good offer.

I've picked up a loaded '14 plate Golf R as a stop gap. I'm constantly planning my next car and was very tempted by RS6 PE, 991 911 GTS etc, but I don't like the look of the recent GDP figures, not one bit. It's time to be cautious, for me at least. If things pan out ok, I might 'go big'.

Golf R is ok, it's as you think it will be. Just about enough fun and it makes sense as a 22k car, not as a 35k+ one.
