at the end of the day being a trader does not make me any worse than a private buyer.

Speak for yourself. We've had traders pose as private buyers only to put the car up for sale in trader with £6k premium, at the end of that day, would that make you any worse?

No it wouldn't, it would however make it a smart business move on the traders half.

I still do not understand how a trader is any worse, the car is only worth what is worth to someone who wants it. if i private buyer comes along and pays the money he would get the car the same as a trader, the premium the trader has on the car is because of the service the trader provides, warrenties, finance etc. not forgetting it is a business, like everything else in life, it is there to make a profit, and the screen price is almost definitely not always the selling price.

I can't see how it is any different to paying Morrisons £1 for a loaf of bread. they have not paid £1 for it, the loaf of bread will have a profit margin on it, you pay them for the convenience of having all your groceries in one store, that is the service they provide, you do not walk up to the till and start harping on to the Cashier who's a percentage of wages comes out of this loaf of bread and be like;

'"Hi, i see Morrisions the dealers whacked 30p bounce on 100 loafs of bread on isle 13....i mean, does Mr Warbourton know about this? does he think that is ok? Whatevs, though, not like we've not seen it before"


if you work for a company, do you really think the company gives all the profit to you?

they buy something in from source (in this case a private seller)

they prep the item for sale (pay staff a percentage of the expected profit, in this case valeting etc)

they retail the item (advertise car at projected in this case)

item sold (see if target profit was reached)

the member of the public who buys the car knows no different and most probably understands the whole world is not a charity case. and pays what they feel is a fair price for the service provided.

No different to walking into any car dealer for any car new or old (Brand new being the worst biggest depreciation)

Sounds fair to me.

If a car like this reduced to 22k as very clearly stated by the seller with a quick sale being necessary, someone like yourself has finance in place to move fast, already has a traders policy to recover the car, or can arrange a trailer / driver to pick it up etc etc
