Wanted: C6 Saloon

Clearly the memory of how expensive my C5 was to run seems to have deteriorated

(probably brought about by driving a 2.0TD C6 for 2 years so it's time to scratch the itch again and try out a C6 RS6).
I've been chatting to another forum member (who picked his up yesterday) and we've compared notes on some of the cars for sale and I think i'll go and have a look at the red one at Listers but I thought I would ask if anyone knows of any others worth looking at as i'm not keen on red and it's top money?
I think also a blue one has appeared tonight on autotrader.
Thanks
Justin

The listers one has had the right hand headlight removed as some point, ask why or look for signs of da age that side, I can tell as its not been put back in the correct place, can take around 3 attempts to get it perfect

there are a couple sepang ones on autotrader around 30k mark.
One has the full MRC stage 2 treatment so saves you about 3.5 over buying a standard one with same miles, but the seats look tired for 50k car.
Another 2 blue ones looks clean with miles from 34k-55k but standard, but misano looks good, my daytona really sparkled when it was detailed and i loved that nobody noticed what it was

Just read through some of the things i posted in other threads about what to look for! make sure you ring audi and ask for service history and any warranty claims carried out etc.
They will provide this information free of charge!

Thanks everyone for your help, advice and PM's
Is it just a matter of time before you will have to get an oil seal replaced, in other words will they all go at some point.
The reason I ask is I'm trying to work out how much weight to put on cars for sale that have had it done compared to those that have not.
There are quite a few cars to chose from and other than the obvious thought of what colour do you want the other factory options are not deal breakers for me, maybe MMI 3G is but all the saloons I have seen have this.
TV would be good but really, how often would I watch it, keyless is convenient, solar sunroof is nice (had it on my C5), adaptive cruise is useful (wifes merc has it), soft close.
Any other thoughts on options people find really good or it is all personal choice?

the best option I found thus far is the keyless entry and the adaptive cruise when you just want to take it easy. A sunroof is always nice and I must admit alcantara trim is also very nice - looks and feels good. ultimately its all personal preference. there is a nice Monza silver saloon for sale which has 3gmmi on ph.

Personally for me options wise, i'd want minumum 3gmmi... reversing camera and thats about it.
The rest are all just nice to have's mines well specced but i'll be honest i dont really use half of it and the Adaptive cruise can be annoying when your going round a bend and it slams the anchors on because it picks up the car in the inside lane as being in front of you.
I have Solar roof - Never used it yet
Electric Steering adjustment - is a nice to have as it means it saves your steering wheel postion on the memory seat function
Passanger seat memory - Pretty pointless really but "cool"
TV/DAB - TV is great with VIM enabled means the passanger can watch TV while you drive pretty handy if you've got a little un that doesnst like long journeys otherwise i only find myself using it if theres an accident and im stuck in traffic or im eating something in the car parked up.
Blinds - Pretty useless dont really do anything for the sun but do stop little hands putting them outside if you have the window open but again its more of a nice to have/cool feature rather than something of great use.
Privacy Glass - Definetly a good one to have, darkens the rear so people cant see in, keep it cooler in summer and adds to the overall look!
Adaptive Cruise - As above its great in 50mph zones or if you want to just follow someone in the inside lane, but a tad annoying if your in the outside wanting to be past people as it just applies the brakes either too late or too soon and takes a while to recognise that the car has moved out the way, so im 50/50 on it.
Carbon engine trim - Most ridiculous option ever created and honestly very rare, its something like £1100 for carbon trim and top speed de-restricted, i wouldnt dream of paying that but luckily mine has this.
Soft close doors - 100% love these an option i'd want on any car, takes the strain off the door as you need little to no effort to close it, also means that you can arrive home late and if you havent woke the street with your exhaust then you certainly wont wake them with a door bang haha!
Phone handset in armrest - useless option, never used it probably never will
Parking advanced (rear cam) - as above especially on the Avant it comes in real handy!
Keyless - Current car has no keyless but i have had it previously, im 50/50 on that too.. its handy just having the key on you and being able to open the doors/boot etc, but its just lazyness really i manage totally fine removing the key from my pocket and pressing buttons.
The keyless start is also great but im terrible and leave the key in my pocket so it always falls out down the seat then i put it in the door pocket get out and then have to get back in for the key so i can live without the keyless but i wouldnt say no to it in the future.
Hope this helps you out a bit, i have no experience with other options as i havent had them unfortunatly but i think thats most of them i think.

As said by Andy and golf, ramics are needed on the C6 if you can find a car with it, my last car had steels, they where crap, had new ones put on with Audi and within 5k they where shot.
bonus too for the buckets and that's not me been biased much

Ramics are a rare and hard to find option in the grand scheme of things... and depending what you do with the car totally depends on what you need/want.
Personally i couldnt find a car with ceramics and when looking into the compound that Audi use on there road ceramics its utterly useless for track, i wont go into a million details as to why, but bottom line is ceramics are a nice to have.. They arent worth not buying a decent car over or paying over the odds for.
I have 410mm AP Racing discs and 6 pot Radi-Cal callipers and they are fantastic on track, i have abused them with lots of late braking and they havent showed any signs of not being "good enough" the biggest downfall on the stock steels is the standard Audi pads.
They just dont have enough about them to take the temps you'd find with track/spirited driving, a good set of pads usually renders the stock steels pretty effective within reason.
