2004 Audi RS6 Avant – Black - 97kmiles.

Post by SB04 » Fri Oct 09, 2015 5:22 pm

I advertised this car a while ago at a high price but now priced more realistically to sell. Since the original posting I have had the cambelt and all the associated parts done a second time given it was 4 years since the first time i had it done. The work was done 2 months ago by a specialist called QST.

I am the 3rd owner and have owned the car since May 2012. It is Black with a Black leather interior. There are a few blemishes to the bodywork, some stone chips on the lower front bumper but nothing you wouldn’t expect for a car of this age, it is in great condition.

I had the cambelt, water pump etc replaced by a local specialist when I bought it, they also gave it a major service and replaced the DRC with Bilstein PS9 coil overs.
I have serviced it every year regardless of millage.

More recently I started to use QST for maintenance and services, they have done a number of jobs including replacing both oil cooling pipes, replacing front near side cv gator, new brake pads and discs all round earlier this year, Gearbox Output shaft seal replaced, basically anything they found wrong I had them fix.

I kept the car standard until I was convinced by Kim at QST that I should tune it and am really glad I did. They tested the car before they did the tuning and found a leak in one of the intercoolers so I had them both replaced before they did the work. I had the MTM tune so now the car has 516bhp and 700nm torque, I had a Miltek exhaust (quieter one) added at the same time. I have the print out of the dyno run.

The car drives brilliantly, no noises or clonks, it really is a good car and have receipts for everything and a fully stamped service book.

I saw an RS6 with black optics and thought it looked really good so replicated this by Plastidiping all the silver trim. As you can see in the pictures is looks very effective but if the new owner doesn’t like this look, then it just peels off and leave no residue.

Wheels are Anthracite Grey, and have no marks on them, all the tyres have a lot of life in them.

I won’t be allowing any test drives, I will drive the car exactly as asked but I am afraid I will be the only one driving it until the sale is concluded.

Priced at £10,995 it reflected in the condition of the car and the fact there are very few left under 100K miles.

I have enjoyed every minute of owning this car and hope it goes to a good home.

Thanks for looking.

Hi. Just a couple questions if you don't mind?
Is the car still on the original gearbox?
What was the mileage when you had the cambelt/waterpump changed? How many times has the cambelt been changed?
Is the milltek a full system or just cat back?
When you had the intercoolers changed did you replace with standard ones? Did the change the pipes as well or just the intercoolers?
Any other modifications on the car?
Do you have any pictures of the interior?
Where abouts are you located?
Sorry for the barrage of questions....

All good questions.
Gearbox though, it's kinda more important if it's been serviced regularly.

Hi, no problems about the questions, i have answered each one below:

First of all apologies, having pulled out all the paperwork to answer your questions it seems the car has had 3 previous owners and not the 2 i originally stated.

Is the car still on the original gearbox?
A: Yes i think it is, unless it was changed before my ownership which i don’t know.

What was the mileage when you had the cambelt/waterpump changed?
A: 73,520 miles

How many times has the cambelt been changed?
A: Once in my ownership, I am not sure about before that but I don’t think that matters given i did it when i bought it.

Is the milltek a full system or just cat back?
A: Its the one from the cat back i think? It doesn’t go all the way to the manifold, it joins the exhaust at the front of the car. I have the old exhaust which I
kept in case I ever sold the car one day and someone wanted to put it back to standard.

When you had the intercoolers changed did you replace with standard ones?
A: Yes

Did the change the pipes as well or just the intercoolers?
A: No, the pipes were inspected and deemed fine so just the intercoolers were replaced.

Any other modifications on the car?
A: No, just the things I listed. I do have a spare set of original Audi mats I will be throwing in and the original exhaust if it is wanted.

Do you have any pictures of the interior?
A: I will take some and pop them up.

Where abouts are you located?
A: Near Croydon

Just by way of a bit of background. The person who owned the car before me bought it from Fontain and basically drove it for 23,000 miles without doing anything to it, using it every weekend to visit family up north apparently. Because of this I had a major service, cambelt, DRC etc etc all done as soon as I bought it to bring everything up to date. As mentioned in the advert, I have then serviced it every year since.

With regards the gearbox, I haven’t done anything to it as it has always been fine. I did think about servicing it but having read all the horror stories I didn’t want to mess with it given it seems fine. I have always driven the car with consideration to the gearbox, e.g. only accelerating hard once the car is rolling, I really look after my cars, something which will be seen by anyone who comes to view it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not able to view anything before Thursday/Friday the earliest because of work. Including yours there's about 5-6 RS6 Avants that have come up for sale over last couple of days I want to view. I will be honest, the other cars are all priced a fair bit lower than yours and have had rebuilt/recon/regularly serviced gearbox(according to the adverts) so I will be viewing those first, but if they turn out to be no good like the 2 I've previously viewed and yours is still available I will arrange a viewing with you. Also I understand these are a high value, high performance car, but I wouldn't part with any cash without driving the car myself. There's things that you will pick up while driving that you may miss as a passenger. I have insurance with adrian flux with an additional premium that gives me fully comp cover on other peoples cars up to the value of £20k... If I do view the car would you reconsider the no test drives situation?
