Do you lot know the actual story to this car?
I enquired about this when i bought my B5 a few years ago.
Basically what happened was that this car in 2001 was being delivered to an audi showroom for a customers order. When the car was being unloaded from its truck and being moved around the showroom, a thief jumped in and drove of with the car unregistered.
Its spent 2-3 years on fake plates and was found in 04 in a supermarket carpark.
So its had a <beep> upbringing lol.
It was then registered in 2004 when found hence being an 04 plate.

Great story to have with the car! lol.
Being a one off 04 i presume this is why it is attracting that price?

Yes its a very amusing story. I would not touch it as im sure it was abused when new.
Im also wanting to know the number of owners. Its been up for sale so many times.

One of the very first threads I read on RS246 in 2004 was concerning this car. Then the Audi dealer trying to sell said car in 2004 signed up to justify that the car was perfect and had 'full service history' despite having been thrashed for 20,000 miles on cloned plates....
