RS6 Avant For Sale - FSH, low mileage

Post by deanflyer » Mon Jun 17, 2013 2:01 pm

Been mulling this over for a while, and have half heartedly advertised previously. However I'm hardly using it, and after another trip to Unit 20 I've decided to sell. I'll miss the car, but not the bills. Purchased the car after initial inspection at Unit 20 December 2011.

2002 Daytona Grey Avant
Usual RS6 specification including folding mirrors
2 former keepers
Carbon Interior
Tracker
MOT - Expires October 2013
Tax - expires March 2014
66,500 miles
Full Service History (12894, 19435, 25096, 32066, 39127, 45395 at Audi and 54465, 62684 at Unit 20)

Work carried out recently:-
Oil cooler pipes/gearbox cooler hose and oil change June 2013 - £788
Prop shaft changed and new passenger door lock fitted at unit 20 at 62,864 along with interim service (December 2012) - £1874
Vredstein Sessanta x 2 fitted October 2012 (front) - £387
New N75 valve, gearbox service, rear output shaft, gearbox sump, new front lower suspension arms and full service including spark plugs at 54,465 - £2708
Alloys refurbished January 2012 - £325
Timing belt replaced by Audi at 45,395 - £3,658 (includes additional work + replacement DRC NSR shock, valves and pipes)
Brakes (pads and discs all round) replaced May 2011 - £1894
I have invoices for all the above work plus additional invoices for Audi service work.

Good points:-
very well maintained car
low mileage
gearbox - no issues
DRC working well, no leaks
Interior - Excellent condition

bad points:-
stone chip in windscreen on passenger side, was there before I purchased it, passed MOT no issues
slight paint scratch on drivers door sill where bottom of the door seal meets the door sill - quoted £200 to repair
driver door lock works okay but could do with replacing (common fault - passenger one recently replaced see above)
small scuff on lower front bumper - about 1/2 inch square
one of the front tyres has a nick in it - will check with garage and if it needs replacing will fit a new Vredstein Sessanta at my cost.
Unit 20 advised one of the EGT sensors is giving an intermittent fault code - I have left this for now. I will get Unit 20 to do this work before sale, alternatively I will deduct £500 off the price if you want to get the work done yourself.

Price - £9500. I believe this is a realistic price for a quick sale bearing in mind the mileage on the car and the car history. If it doesn't sell I will be part exchanging it.

Photos can be found here:-

I will upload some more recent images when I get it back from Unit 20 tomorrow, I will also get the car fully cleaned and valeted. Car mileage will increase slightly as car is in use.

Did you get what you wanted for it?

What you going to replace it with?
Daytona RS6 C5 Avant. Viper'd, Billies, Waggers, MTM box brain, C6 stoppers, xcarlink, R8 coolant cap (woohoo)
///M3 E46 | XC90 (V8, natch) | Passat GTE | RR Classic V8 flapper

Yes, got the asking price, however when it was in at Unit 20 getting oil cooler pipe replaced it threw up EGT sensor fault so i felt I had to reduce price accordingly. Think i u der priced it but I wanted a fairly quick sale, the purchaser got a bargain IMHO.

Will miss it. Mulling over whether to buy a euro barge now or an S6 Avant.

Congrats Dean, glad you weren't waiting round for ages.

I'm still considering my options but I'm not in any hurry!
