I've been away in Germany for 5 days.
Yes, I was perfectly aware that he was a trader, he told me clearly from the start.
And if he makes a few quid then fair play, that's his job.
He was a nice guy and the only guy that turned up with the cash! Lol
Anything in this world is only worth as much as someone will pay for it.
Ironically I've just been approved on a little bit of finance and was supposed to be collecting my rs4 this morning.
The dealer sold it for a higher price over the weekend!
Bloody traders :bash: :bash:
What a :knob: Did you have a deposit down?

Good to hear you're happy with the sale of your '6.

The issue some of us have, is that your buyer thinks it's OK to deceive sellers into thinking he's a private buyer. Some people won't care. Some people do. That's the crux of it.

But he didn't actually do that in this instance?

Tintin says he told him clearly from the start.

Are we not being a little tradist here... Taring all traders with the same brush?

Hi guys.
Yes I knew he was a trader from the start, he told me and made me his offer based on the fact he needed room to make a profit.
After all, it may have had the engine fall out on the way home and then he would've been thousands out of pocket!
That's the risk dealers take.
He was a very nice guy, fair price was offered as a trader and I happily accepted.
A car (or anything for that matter) is o Ky worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, or the seller is prepared to accept for it.
He got a bloody good deal
But that's the business he is in, I hope he has hours of fun before selling it on at a profit, otherwise his bills won't be paid that week!
Gutted he had the balls to take it up to over 200mph and I didn't though! Lol
Anyway, my circumstances have changed slightly and with the cash sale I've managed to save enough to finish my house, and with the change and a little finance I'm now looking at a couple of rs4's, which will probably suit my lifestyle better.
Good luck with the car mate and if anyone can help me decide on an RS4 I'd be grateful, my head hurts with looking

No we're not being tradist. Yes, we are tarring this particular trader with the same brush. What some people hate are; traders that
a) Rock up to your joint saying they're an enthusiast, talking to you about their love of cars, bartering on a price, agreeing on that price, only then it's revealed that they're a trader.
b) Traders that believe there is nothing wrong with the above statement, which I believe is a prick trader 'practice'.

We'd established that this guy made himself known as trader on page 1, so it's a kosher deal, and there's nought wrong with a trader making a living, that was never the dispute.
No matter where you go, there you are.

A) would get thrown out of my place. When I sold "Betsy" my old e36 m3 I threw a guy out for being a prick, he was even going to pay over the asking price! But he was a <beep>... So a) isn't just traders, it's all dickheads.

B) yer that's it not to think a) is right; but with a bit of goading I'd be saying a) was fine to. Just for the wind up.

So... Any trader that does a) complete <beep>. :)

I still stand on what i say and think it is a smart business move for a trader to pose as a private buyer to buy a car.

If for some strange reason unknown to mankind the Trader has to, (Money is no different from a Trader to a Private Buyer).

I never stated anywhere that i would condone such activities.

I did also however clearly state that Simon knew i was a trader from the start as i have nothing to hide.

Rally up whoever you want, i would love to view the discussions to see the reasons why being a Trader posing as a Private Buyer makes any difference at all. (other then it being a lie)

Regards,
lads if you quoting me, take the whole not just a selection to try to paint me in a bad light, as now confirmed by the seller, i did not on this occasion and never have condoned such activities.

And think about about.......try to look at it from a different angles if you have too, all i said was it was a smart business move on the traders half.

its like a 'Hustle' from telling a minor lie, i find people who can do things like that are very clever/smart to be able to do so get away with it.

Simon i now also have a Black RS4 in stock as the first lad who test drove the RS6 wanted it, finance is through as the car will be collected at the end of the week.

if you need any information just give me a text or call,

Cheers.

danc03 wrote:Although I am not the trader who purchased the RS6 I am the trader who has advertised the car.

The car was sourced specifically for a returning customer of ours who I must add for those concerned is an enthusiast as is his father and brother, it is due to replace his Audi A4 Dynamik avant.

Although the RS6 was a nice example there is numerous jobs needed to get it to a standard of which I will be happy with including paintwork, wheel refurbishment, a service, a full detail, not mentioning warranty costs etc etc.

The advert was put live simply as a test as we have not had a C6 RS6 in stock before and I wanted to see if it attracted attention like some of the B6 rs4's and C5 rs6's we have previously sold.

From my point of view the seller is happy he sold the car, the traders are happy they bought & sold the car and the new buyer is happy with his new car, the figures are meaningless and the car is back into the hands of an enthusiast :nogarors4:
I want to see one of these B6 RS4's you speak of, now that's a rare car!

I had previously posted with the view that this was not such a bad thing, considering the seller's position, but you've just lost any remaining credibility. You only "get away it" if there's something to get away from. Nobody ever said "I've given this guy a really good deal and I think I've got away with it". It really throws up questions about your integrity. For every car you buy, you need to sell and I for one would think very carefully before buying from you.

Speak for yourself. We've had traders pose as private buyers only to put the car up for sale in trader with £6k premium, at the end of that day, would that make you any worse?
7 omm wrote:No it wouldn't, it would however make it a smart business move on the traders half.
I've only ever quoted you directly. Don't try and spin it by saying it's out of context, it's all there in the thread.

Try this, here, consider this a clean slate and you're now on page 1 where I ask you "...We've had traders pose as private buyers only to put the car up for sale in trader with £6k premium, at the end of that day, would that make you any worse?"

Now, you write upon the clean slate?

Also, how about you go away...

What a thread.... he said she said/tit for tat it sounds very childish all this at the end of the day a car has changed hands and it's helped a guy out I doubt he's lost thousands in selling to a trader probably got a better price than we buy any car.com.

What I'm noticing though on auto trader is how private sale prices are matching or selling for more that traders or garages.... I'm looking to buy an rs6 but maybe I need to pose as a trader to get the best price ??

Lots of people seem to be missing the point, which is not about this particular transaction.

The trader in question has said its good business to lie to sellers to bag a good deal.

I don't like liars.

Really, what's written in here that would give you that idea, or are you just reading whatever you want into this thread?
