Yes was a poor description. It has sold but was sold outside of eBay so that why I'm unsure of the price. I,ll just keep sailing on for now I,m not heartbroken if it stays with me. I,m only selling for what it's worth to me as it is a truly cracking car that I still love with every drive. Mines also in a heated garage and hasn't covered more than few thousand miles in my ownership. I work half mile from home and have a second car so it's just an as and when car.
That’s the key, you don’t need to so just wait. I’m like that with the cars I mentioned. Once I get an Rs4 though I might be willing to take some money off.

This doesn’t look bad

I think they are at their all time low now,

i work that out from the bottom of the market up....

A cat D saloon is still a bargain at 10k
You'd pay at least 2k more for a high miles car that wasn't damaged
Maybe another 2k for an avant or a 100k mile saloon with decent spec
2k more and you would be expecting a sub 100k mile saloon with reasonable spec and some extras or maybe a 100k avant and lowish spec
At which point you are then in the heart of the better end of the market at £16-20k which should get you lower mile saloons, 70-100k mile avants, buckets, good spec, history and maybe a choice of cars with coilovers etc
Beyond that you are talking low miles, high spec and extras and well known cars all the way up to 28k for supercharged versions.

So expecting an Avant, with a decent spec and well sorted for 13k just isn't realistic imho, I think the OP's price is pretty much bang on and a decent offer of 14.5 - 15k should be acceptable

And all that because you say a cat d saloon is a bargain at 10k?

I say a cat d saloon isn’t a bargain and that’s because cat D saloons are not selling for 10k.

As an example, this is for sale at less than 10k and I bet “if” you wanted a cat d and offered him 8k it would be yours.

Again I’d say your pricing is out because I just posted a nice Rs4 saloon on eBay with 80k miles, a good spec, Audi history and low owners and he’s not sold it just yet, i think it goes close to his asking of 14500.

No I agree, and a very fair price in my opinion! You might get a few enquiries now from the people that missed out on the eBay car, but I think a lot of people see a starting bid of 11k and think there lucks in and can get it for say 13k and the lowest I've seen one sell for is 15k and that was stolen recovered, although not recorded. Very similar spec etc to yours but with comforts not buckets! Make of that what you will, just my humble opinion! GLWS mate!

As these cars are good all year round does the winter effect the prices in a good way like 4x4’s say?

I’m not trying to knock the guys price, just saying what I think it needs to be to sell compared to others I’ve seen. I don’t mind if I’m wrong on the values.

I’m in the same boat with my car for sale, I’ve had it for sale on and off all year. Most of the time the cheapest for year and miles but not cheap enough because I wasn’t 100% about selling it. If I was I’d lop £2000 off and it would be gone I reckon.

Well,

When I say bottom of the market - I am talking about cars that are basically straight and good and ready to go !!

Linking to a 150k mile Cat D with misting shocks, mix n match tyres from a dubious seller on ebay from Birmingham isn't something thats relevant to this conversation imvho, but feel free to construct whatever argument you want, whilst you are trying to purchase :bigblink: , be interesting to see if you are saying the same things when you are trying to sell lolol

I think you should buy that one and enjoy it as you obviously like a bargain :drink:

I’ll give you that, I’m terrible when it comes to buying toys. 😆
Sorry dude, it was the only cat d on auction and the avant but that’s missing correct seats and I wouldn’t buy a cat d knowingly. Lol

If you fancy buying my Range Rover or porsche Turbo for what I think they’re worth I’ll buy the op’s car for full money?

When I come to sell, It will either be because I need the money so will sell to best bid or if I don’t need the money and just don’t want it anymore I’ll do as the OP is and I’m doing on my Cars and that is wait.

Cool,

Guess that proves who's right and who's deluded where pricing is concerned !!

Well done chap.

I’ve been wrong. I need to pay more than I thought.

Glad the OP sold it. 👍
