With respect.

You are a little bit of a drama queen! How about you just avoid the classifieds section for a while and join in with the community, rather than trying to sniff out the next deal like a trader would?

Sam and Eddie I agree about the bickering to an extent - but a car for sale is a car for sale and money is all the same, this particular seller was happy to sell the car for the price until the latter happened, the classifieds is there for a reason and that's to buy and sell, drama queen is a bit far fetched Sam considering I am trying to replace my b8 with a b7 of which you know about.
Also if you see this as trying to sniff out a deal, at 17k for this car there is no money left in it for anybody.
I agree Eddie yes the manner has got a little out of hand and all parties should be more respected and treat others as they would like to be treated.

I call peace to this thread, Danny sorry for making an offer and pulling away so fast but a brake issue is not what in looking for-
Eddie and Sam I respect both of you and what you have said.

Why would you try and sell a car without the log book??
Not the best start

Logbook is fundamental when selling a car. Doesn't prove anything? Proves for one that our the registered keeper and goes part way to proving that it's not a ringer. You also can't get an insured HPI check without the doc ref numbers off the logbook.

Therefore id say it's fairly essential.

Yep. I was speaking to a customer just this week who had bought a fairly new BMW in good faith privately only to discover a few months down the line it was a Cat D due to previous front end smash. Her fault for not doing HPI check. Always a case of buyer beware I'm afraid
