SOLD........Daytona Grey C5 RS6 - only 66k miles.....SOLD

Post by magpie21 » Mon Nov 02, 2020 5:08 pm

Never though I'd be writing this post but I'm putting my treasured 2003 C5 RS6 up for sale. This isn't a covid fire sale it's just the sensible option as I sell a couple of my cars to put myself in a position to buy something really special.

I am only the 3rd owner and I bought the car on here from forum member Stoddie in 2013 with only 46k on the clock and in my 7 years of ownership have only added 20k so it now sits at 66k miles.

The car is in great condition, it's been machine polished and waxed within an inch of it's life but does have a few stone chips around the arches. It's been laid up for a couple of years and I'm just finishing spending a fortune on it as I was all set for getting it back on the road and using it again but a change of fortune has meant I'm now in a position to buy one of my dream cars and so reluctantly am selling it. That being said I won't be giving it away.

Spec is:
Daytona Grey
Black optics pack
Half leather alcantara seats
Uprated flat bottom steering wheel
Piano Black interior trim
Heat reflective windscreen
RNSE with fiscon bluetooth phone module and ipod streaming
Genuine Plus alloys
PSS9 coilovers
H&R ARB's
Solar sunroof
MRC stage 2 with Miltek exhaust
Refurbed brake calipers inc paint and seals - £750
Cambelt / water pump done at Vass Tech in 2019 at 62k long with new radiator and gearbox selector switch - 2.5k bill
Currently having new front & rear discs pads fitted - £900 bill

Before I bought the car the gearbox had been rebuilt via Unit 20 so now once it goes back together all the big jobs have been done (remind me why I'm selling it again) so all that there is left to do is enjoy it. Trust me if I had the space to keep it I would but it's already one of 5 cars and after spending so much to get it back up and running again it would be criminal to put it back under a cover for a few years.

Pictures are below and have the carbon backed recaro CS seats in which I had fitted, these transformed the car for me and were a must have after having the BMW performance versions in a previous M3 they really transform the interior and are also comfortable, supportive & heated. These seats are 3k but I will include them in the sale for 2k on top of the asking price if the buyer wants them or I can remove them before purchase.

I'm asking £16500 ono for the car (without recaro CS), which I know is strong for one of these but comparing to the car on millenium heroes with more miles and arguably less desireable colour and spec I'm hoping someone serious who knows that buying a 10k C5 can quickly escalate to 000's more once things start going wrong will see the value in this as all of the big expensive jobs are done.

Give me a PM or call me on 07889 841346 if you would like anymore info. As I say the car is currently away being fully serviced, MOT, brakes etc so won't actually be available for viewing for another couple of weeks. The car will return to its original registration of LS03 DCV

Thanks both, I know I'll regret it once it's gone. It's my second C5 and I bought this one after regretting selling the first one :bash:

These are getting very rare in this condition and mileage, I’d say asking price is spot on, GLWS

Looks a nice car, service history ?

The price seems high especially as the racing seats are excluded from the price also.. IMO

A really fine example.
Good ones like this are becoming rare and offer great all round ability as I've discovered using mine as my main car this year.
Great value for money.
Hope you find a buyer who will continue to look after and appreciate it.
