SOLD - Audi Q7 - new model, very high spec

Post by TallMark » Mon Sep 12, 2016 1:14 pm

Hi,

Just getting a feel if there's any interest on here for a Q7?

It's *very* high spec (£16k of options), and is my wife's car, but she want to switch to something smaller.

Q7 S-Line 272bhp model
65 plate
Orca Black
12,000 miles

Extras with costs in brackets:

Technology pack (£1950). This includes the TFT virtual cockpit - absolutely awesome
Dynamic pack - Head up display, Lane change assist, adaptive cruise control (£2655)
Parking assist pack (£1150)
Panoramic sunroof (£1700)
Electric folding tow bar with trailer assist (£1300)
Valcona leather (grey) (£1100)
21" turbine alloys (£1100)
BOSE hifi (£1100)
Matrix LED lights (£950)
Advanced Key (£950)
Ambient light package (£280)
Heated mirrors (£100)
Memory seats (£350)
Heated steering wheel (£250) - very rare
Heated windscreen (£400)
Heat/sound insulated glass with privacy (£525)
Paint protection (£700)

We're asking £51,500 (original list was around £71k)

The car is amazing - quick, comfy, relatively frugal, tonnes of space for family (6 ISOFIX seats!), and laden with toys. Sadly its not for us though.

Pictures to follow once we get a chance to give it a clean.

No worries. I've been tracking these cars for quite a while, I dread to think what you've been offered p/x for it! On the plus side new & unregistered stock has dried up, and the wait for new is quite long, so used values have firmed a bit.

No Smartphone Interface?

I've never tried to link my phone to play music, but I believe it has it. Certainly has Bluetooth for phone calls as you'd expect.

Pre MY17 the Smartphone interface was a £275 option. It allows CarPlay/Android-auto to be used in the car.

Ah, sadly not then.

You seem to know a lot about these - any comments on price? It's hard to gauge given there are so few for sale privately, and none with this spec level.

It's a lovely spec car, it really is, and one I would probably make you an offer for if banks financed private purcashes. But, in my humble opinion I think you will struggle at that price privately. As you know, the Options list on the Q7 is obscenely long. The Q7 was the first model to take options into consideration with the GFV's, but, and it's a big but, there are only a few options that made much difference to the GFV. 21" wheels add £500, Pan roof adds £700, Tech pack adds £500, and that's about it. Everything else has little or no effect. So residually cars with high spec don't retain much of the options value. You'll see on AUC that the demo cars specced by dealers are either ticking all the options and taking the hit, or speccing them lightly with the essential Virtual Cockpit and 21's.

As I previously mentioned, Q7 stock has totally dried up, so if you order a new one today you won't see it until next year, so that is on your side.

But at the same time there's lots of 16 plate demo cars about to come to the market which your 65 plate is going to have to compete with, and they are sub £50k e.g..

2mths old, £48k with some nice options:
21" wheels,
Metallic Paint
Full Valcona leather
Smartphone interface
Virtual Cockp

As much as it's going to be hard for you to swallow, I think that you might have to take a bath on most of those options you ticked. You ticked LED Matrix lights and sound privacy glass, but it comes with LED and privacy as standard, so they're not necessarily options people seek out.

My dealer said to me last week that he can't get hold of Q7's at the moment, so if you want his number it might be worth a call to see what he can do for you. I can't promise anything though.

Cheers

I am getting rid of my Q7 in December; similar spec and only 3,000 miles (1 Jan 2016 registered).

I will go sale-or-return with my local dealer who is a friend; I expect to get around £45k-£46k back, mine has everything yours has except the assistance pack. Mine listed at £62k, I paid £53k so whilst it is an expensive per mile cost for a years motoring it is not so bad.

I also heard they have very limited stock in the country as a whole right now so a very good time to sell.

If you can get yours into an Audi dealer they would need to make maybe £2k on top but you may get a slightly better price and the buyer can go on Audi finance.

10 Internet points to MikeFish!

Car collected today after agreeing a good price, about the same level we were hoping to get back after costs on a SoR basis.

Thank you for the pointer!

I'd like to take all the credit but HYFR brought it to our attention.

Well done. Is there anybody left on here, not selling their car on tootle this week?
