If, as I suspect (and others are assuming) it is so you can attempt to use your experience as a professional car trader to exploit or strong arm the average joe into paying less for a vehicle, then I hope i'm there when karma catches up with you.

If its something else, please clarify.

When the seller says things like this, all bets are off. He really, REALLY wanted to sell it and the trader saw an opportunity. Also remember that nobody else put any money on the table. I'm not saying it's right, but it kind of alters the balance in the sense that 2 wrongs almost make a right.

Cheers,
Bryan

Does the trader trade under a brand name? Please share it.

Although I am not the trader who purchased the RS6 I am the trader who has advertised the car.

The car was sourced specifically for a returning customer of ours who I must add for those concerned is an enthusiast as is his father and brother, it is due to replace his Audi A4 Dynamik avant.

Although the RS6 was a nice example there is numerous jobs needed to get it to a standard of which I will be happy with including paintwork, wheel refurbishment, a service, a full detail, not mentioning warranty costs etc etc.

The advert was put live simply as a test as we have not had a C6 RS6 in stock before and I wanted to see if it attracted attention like some of the B6 rs4's and C5 rs6's we have previously sold.

From my point of view the seller is happy he sold the car, the traders are happy they bought & sold the car and the new buyer is happy with his new car, the figures are meaningless and the car is back into the hands of an enthusiast :nogarors4:

As I pointed out to your business partner/buyer/whatever previously in another thread. There is a mechanism for traders to do business on the forum in full public view - this could also prove quite profitable for you if done well.

Considering there has been no auction fees and the mark up you've most likely made, it’s a small sum to re-invest, so have a read through this link - http://www.rs246.com/advertising/

Sam, they're not going to follow the rules and pay as a sponsor. They are happy to be a ninja and do as they wish to maximise their profits.

The deal is done and dusted and the word is out so maybe to do the right thing, they should donate a portion of their profit to the forum as a gesture of good will.

average Joe would not be paying less for a vehicle he is selling, you are assuming i would be offering less so in turn average Joe would be taking less, which is merely a speculation.

I never stated anywhere i would offer average Joe 'CAP' or 'BOOK' price guides for his car, you can not buy these types of car from book values unless you main dealer and the seller is simply is not bothered about how much they are losing.

If average Joe's car is priced (like the car previously bought) at what i feel fair for the condition/age/mileage i will pay the asking price for the car.

Thank you to whoever gave a reasonably valid reason as to why they would not want to sell to a trader. i understand people get attached to their cars and like to see them go onto another caring home, that is all fine and well if you are financially secure, your private situation allows you to do so, you can afford to put your car up at high market value and wait for the right 'caring' buyer to come along (often over a period of months)

but remember there is always two sides to every story, not everybody is financially secure, do not for one minute kid yourself into thinking you would not take a dealers money 6 months down the line when no private buyer has viewed the car and the dealer is willing to pay your asking price, i bet that same dealer is not a 'prick' or '<beep>' then as i have already been described as even though i have done nothing wrong.

With regards to being a forum sponsor to view classified/buy cars. whoever mention my post count was correct, i am new to the forum and never realized there was a sponsorship section etc (hence why i deleted my post in the classified section)

being a Paid trade sponsor is a great idea but currently would not make business sense on this forum. the volume of cars you have access too for the money is a very small amount in comparison online car trading sites.

Paying to satisfy a few members who do not like the fact i have bought cars which are advertised on the forum would just be stupid. Given that the cars were also advertised elsewhere (both add where on pistonheads i believe E-bay also)

Hope that clarifies it for whoever asked, you do not need to strongarm anybody into anything.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the record, i would not waste my time trying someone with the strictly no traders stuff on there add, if they are lucky or someone wants the car it will sell, if not, i would wait until the add said ***PRICE REDUCED*** and the 'strictly no traders' bollocks has been removed. that is my time to sweep in with the headlock/armbar or guillotine......hammer the price down to pennies and then make them tap!!! :assflash: :bash:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the above between the lines was joke - lets see who has a sense of humour :bigwave: :jump:

Not really sure the issue here.

The guy wanted to sell his car, a guy came and bought it, job done?? Who really cares if it was a dealer or the queen of Sheba the whole point was to sell the car and that's what happened.

I've just caught up with this thread, not really sure what all the fuss is about. I have sold numerous cars via forums or piston heads, and yes it's nice when you sell to another enthusiast but at the end of the day I'm selling my car to move on to something else, I know what I want price wise and at the end of the day I'm not overly bothered who pays me that price.
I sold an EVO X to a trader who was working on behalf of a private buyer in Sweden. The trader tried all the trader tricks to get the price down but in the end gave up and paid what I wanted. It was a spot on car !!!!!!
I think there are more important things in life to worry about than dealers posing as private sellers!!!

Hey guys, what's gone on ? Lol
I've been away in Germany for 5 days.
Yes, I was perfectly aware that he was a trader, he told me clearly from the start.
And if he makes a few quid then fair play, that's his job.
He was a nice guy and the only guy that turned up with the cash! Lol
Anything in this world is only worth as much as someone will pay for it.
Ironically I've just been approved on a little bit of finance and was supposed to be collecting my rs4 this morning.
The dealer sold it for a higher price over the weekend!
Bloody traders :bash: :bash:
