Very special C5 S6 for sale

Post by s-express » Tue Feb 03, 2015 2:59 pm

AUDI S6 4.2L V8 QUATTRO £5200

Before you read this listing, you must realise that this is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill, slightly tired S6 that needs a few pounds spending on it. This car had had everything done in the last 3 or 4 years (which equates to around 20,000 miles) to make it feel like you are driving a nearly new car, it’s that good. Nothing on this car is tired, the next cost the new owner will have is a pair of rear tyres in two or three thousand miles time.
This car has had 3 owners in the last few years, the first and last (me) of those being fastidious and arguably, somewhat picky when it comes to car care! (I can’t vouch for the middle owner – he didn’t own it long enough).
I have been in regular contact with the other fastidious owner this car has had and I’m sure he would be happy to talk to any serious buyer.
As great as it is, I am under pressure from the boss to get a Touareg as she likes the more elevated driving position.

So, here are the highlights and at the bottom, the original listing from 2011 for good measure….

- This car cost £58,000 new
- 348 PS 466 NM 0-60=5.6 seconds top speed (delimited)=186mph
- Permanent TORSEN 4wd split 50:50 F:R
- The handling is amazing, see below for suspension upgrades fitted….
- Tiptronic 5speed auto
- Rolling road graphs to prove power output & engine health
- New engine at 75,000 miles due to cambelt failure – receipts for £11,500 for this alone!
- Current mileage 184,000 (engine replaced at 75,000 miles under warranty) car drives tight, responsive and rattle free
- Recent full suspension overhaul including fully adjustable Bilstein shocks & springs with adjustable collars for ride height setting all round, Hotchkiss uprated ARB’s front and rear.
- Recent discs & pads all round (Mintex quality items)
- Recent cambelt, thermostat & water pump replacement including all idler pulleys etc
- Recent oil filter, fuel filter, plugs, air filter, cabin filter
- Fresh VAG coolant
- New radiator and Kenlowe electric fan conversion
- Auto gearbox recently serviced
- New output shaft seal on centre diff
- Centre & rear differentials drained & refilled with Synth 75w90
- Prop CV joints stripped & re-greased
- Both rear callipers new
- OEM RS6 alloy wheels that are only a couple of years old
- All the main suspension components have been replaced within the last 20,000 miles including most bushes, pinch bolts, wishbones etc
- RS6 sound enhanced exhaust system, car sounds amazing when you accelerate but not noisy when cruising
- Full service history from main dealer & specialists (nearly every receipt from new!) I have done all work in my ownership except for gearbox service which was done at a specialist.
- MOT until 23rd April 2015
- Both sets of keys and all original documentation including MASSIVE history file
- Scuttle panel recently cleaned out to ensure drain holes don’t get blocked
- Bodywork in exceptional condition, recently detailed.
- New spark plugs fitted recently
- All door cards removed & window cables greased (preventative measure only)
- Longlife oil & filters just done so no servicing costs for 10,000 miles (you could run it for 20,000 miles according to Audi but personally I would never dream of running any engine over 10,000 miles without an oil change)

SPEC:
- Electric Recaro Nappa leather heated seats
- Xenon headlights with auto levelling
- Alcantara headlining
- Tilt/slide sunroof
- Fully working climate control
- Bose stereo with 6cd auto changer & subwoofer built into rear wheel arch lining
- Full tool kit
- Carbon fibre inlays
- Rear load liner and dog guard built in
- Parrot Bluetooth integrated into stereo system
- USB/iphone adaptor for stereo included

Bad bits: Very few! This car has virtually no faults!!
- Some pixels missing from driver display (although still fully readable)
- Boot only opens with remote
- Microswitch u/s in both off side doors

To sum up, this car wants for nothing and has been really well cared for and all the expensive jobs done, it does 22mpg driving between Chester & Wrexham.
Car is available for viewing at any time to suit, currently located on Wrexham Industrial Estate.
PM me – thanks.

Previous owners description from 2011:
Original Audi S6 4.2 V8 40v Quattro with Tiptronic gearbox.
This car was the precursor to the RS6 and the main rival to the BMW M5. The original C5 S6 was a balance of power and reliability and this one is no different.
With an original purchase price of a little over £58,000 all the options boxes were ticked back in 2000. This car was specced with full alcantara headlining ( a £2300 option), glass electric sunroof, ski through hatch and the 5 speed tiptronic gearbox. Xenon lights with auto leveling.
The specification includes fully electric adjustable RECARO satin nappa silver/ light cream leather with centre armrests front and rear which are fitted with six stage heating, cream leather door cards with black surrounds, carbon fibre Quattro Gmbh inlays inclusive dashboard and centre console, S6 sill protectors, BOSE symphony CD stereo with amplifier, sub woofer and CD changer. Additional power sockets in the rear and in the luggage compartment. Rollout dog guard (another Audi upgrade).
The car is finished in Ming Mica Metallic blue with a professional light stage tint. I have also fitted a more suitable RS6 front bumper, deleted the chrome from under the lights and fitted black surround RS6 upper and lower honeycomb grills (all new parts). It is also fitted with the RS6 roof spoiler.
The suspension was overhauled less than 5000 miles ago and replaced by fully adjustable Bilstein PSS coilovers, set to a lower than factory ride height but maintaining a sensible compromise. This is the standard retro fit replacement for DRC. I also replaced the anti roll bars with Hotchkiss units front and back and new bushes all round. Coupled to the speed sensitive steering the car handles excellently in all weathers and turns in flat and progressive with no sign of weight transfer. This little lot came to just over £1700.
The engine on this one suffered a cambelt failure at 75572 (090903) but was warranted by Audi. A brand new engine was fitted by Beachwood to the tune of £11,500 (4 page receipt from Audi Warranty claims UK). I have since replaced the cambelt again inclusive all relay rollers, tensioners, waterpump, thermostat, auxlliary belt, tensioner, radiator, Kenlowe electric cooling fan (less drag and better MPG), obviously new coolant (flushed several times with VW spec G12). All parts were Audi/VAG original and fitted less than 3000 miles ago.
I have also replaced the discs and pads all round about 1500 miles ago, both the outer constant velocity joints and boots, one inner constant velocity joint and boot, both sets of top arms with bushes and ball joints and all the pinch bolts. Both lower arms on either side, and one front arm plus one complete upright on the same side.
I lecture automotive for a living and one of my students scratched the side of the car last year. It went into the shop to be cleaned up. Whilst there the alloy wheels were stolen. So a brand new set of original Audi RS6 5 spoke 19”x 9 alloys were fitted with the correct Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 R01s. I also had a new Avus 17” alloy with a Pirelli P6000 spare, new tool kit and jack and new centre caps, road wheel studs and locking studs. This bill alone was over £4500, fortunately paid for by the garage.
To verify the condition of the engine and monitor all the measuring blocks live I took the car to be dyno’d at the Powerhouse Tewkesbury and then verified by MRC at Banbury. It consistently produced 348PS and 466Nm. This gives the factory claim to accelerate from standstill to (62.1 mph) in 5.7 seconds. The top speed was electronically governed to 250 km/h (155.3 mph). I have no reason to doubt this and the change of pace at high speed is unbelievable, it just does not seem to run out of puff and pulls strong to 7000 RPM which is 143mph in 4th. Delimited the potential is for 186.
I have also fitted a low mileage (circa 40k IIRC) RS6+ (SE- Sound Enhanced) exhaust which makes the S6 bring out the full V8 tone.
No dents or scratches or damage or rips or tears to the interior. Carpets in excellent condition, most of the car is unused outside of the driver area.
The car is also fitted with a Parrot hands free device which is integrated into the stereo speakers. This is Bluetooth operable so will work on any phone once it is paired-no need for wires etc. Excellent system.
Both sets of keys and fobs, Audi presentation wallet with service book, fully stamped and upto date (FASH), inclusive Audi main dealer network and specialist VAG. Included is a full portfolio of every receipt pertaining to work done.
MOT until March 2012, Tax ..

Today - the asking price

If I still haven't sold it in 3 months time - significantly less
